Making Design: Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum Collections

I had the book delivered to my son in law who is a serious designer. He loves it. And he said it comes in more than one cover but you don't know which one you will get. His was black with white lettering that glows in the dark.

The book is stunning and I’m really happy to have it, but it was delivered horrible. Some pages are crumpled. I paid for the new book but not for the crumpled book.

Contents are fantastic, with great commentary. The book's cover is a joke though seeing as how it is glued onto the massive text and the material used for this book's cover seems to be compressed from a paper so thin and fragile. The book itself is great. I might have docked the review one 🌟 star BECAUSE of the fragility caused by the cover. No, still 5 stars! Absolutely a design fail this cover is. But you can't judge a book by its cover so please do read on.Irma Boom said she spent 4 years designing this book. The book is amazing. However the cover (needs to be said over and over again) could have been better. Notice the 3rd party sellers' comments on used versions: nearly all say the cover is damaged somehow but the text body is in good condition. Well the text body is well made with leaves well sewn together in support of this massive yet compact volume. Too bad the cover feels to be made of tissue paper.Be prepared that merely opening the book gently on a desk or table top and NOT flattening the book in any way WILL create massive bends in the back of the book. Immediately the book may appear abused. Such is the nature of this design great only as unique.

I loved it! It arrived on time, the quality it was really good. In good conditions. It is at it says. I love it
