Handsome Shoe...Narrow fit
This is a sturdy and handsome black leather uniform shoe. My eight year old liked the style out of the box but was disappointed that they were tight across the arch. He does not wear a wide shoe normally however I will order the same size in the wide width in hopes that the problem is solved. I was tempted to have him wear them around the house to try to break them in since they are leather...but should not entertain such an idea. Comfort is key, particularly for concentration at school so we'll try the wider width in this otherwise handsome and comfortable shoe. I loved that the shoes came with an extra pair of laces too. This son is really hard on shoes, especially laces so this saves me having to buy replacements at a later time. Great bonus!

Maybe it was just a bad pair.
I have been purchasing these shoes for a few years and never had a problem with them. This is the first time the width of the shoe did not fit. I have a very wide foot and these are the only shoe that fits me. Maybe it was just a bad pair...not sure? I love the durability of the shoe but my son says ...
I love the durability of the shoe but my son says that the tongue of the shoe presses down on his foot. I'm going to take the shoes to the shoe repair shop and see if something can be done to stretch the shoe. Otherwise the shoe looks great!

These shoes are quite stiff and after wearing them many times they still don't seem to be breaking in like I had hoped. My son hates wearing them unfortunately and he has never complained about a pair of shoes until now.
