Joie Strawberry Huller and Slicer, Red

This item worked and cut sharp. I bought another brand before that was not a good experience. I will only buy the Joie brand for a gift.

A year ago I thought ‘well, this is a frivolous purchase. As a matter of fact, I’m pretty sure that little scoop won’t work.’ WELL, over that year, every time I use it I say to myself ‘WOW that little scoop makes strawberry hulling so easy.’ And ‘WOW those slices are so fast, easy, and look so elegant.’ A valuable little set.

This item has turned out to be quite handy. I love strawberries. The little spoon is perfect for getting rid of the stem without loosing much of the berry. The slicer is great, as well.I highly recommend this product!

You need this! We planted a strawberry patch a couple years ago and were loving all the fresh berries, but home grown berries are smaller than store bought and it was hard to slice them all up in a timely manner for things like crepes. this is the biggest game changer! Now instead of me being stuck continuously slicing strawberries while every else is eating and asking for more, I can do a whole bowl in 5-10 mins and eat with them. Love the uniformity too-great for desert presentation like topping a cheesecake.Only negative is you need to store this up and out of reach of littles and be careful how you grab it out of the cupboard. the blades stick beyond the frame and so if you dont grab it by the frame only and put your fingers behind it (which I naturally tend to do), you will be touching blades.

The slicer worked well for six months , but finally one of the strips cracked off. It IS plastic.
