Great rack for the price.
This rack is just about perfect for what I needed. I figured I write a review to clarify a couple of the other things I saw people mention:- The rack is pretty sturdy once it is completely assembled. I wouldn't want to use it for touring and it will shake for side to side if you give it a little force but I have zero concerns about it falling apart and damaging my expensive gear in studio use. It is strong enough to last awhile.- People who are breaking things during assembly are likely over tightening the collars. There is no need to tighten them all the way to closed. Long before that time, things will be firmly in place with no chance of movement.- While the width is measured at 58", you can only use 48" due to the size of the connecting collars. This is clear in the manufacturers specs.- I bought extra set of arms just to put 2 more things on my rack. The only drawback is that items on the same level must be at the same because the arm collar is notched into the crossbar. I solved this by removing the protrusion that sticks out from inside the collar. It's still a rock solid clamping but I wouldn't do this for a very heavy item.- The rubberized end caps that some complain about falling off haven't done it to me since assembly. The really serve no purpose by provide you some protection from bumping into end of arms.- Assembly is easy but a bit tricky because things don't stabilize until is completely assembled.

Sturdy, adjustable frame. Perfect start to my collection!
Once this thing is put together, its nice and sturdy. Admittedly, it took me a while to get the pieces arranged to fit myy needs but it is quite versatile. I bought extra arms to add more boutique synths and and my interface and it isnt finished yet. At the rate I keep buying synths, I will probably be buying another stand soon.I created shelves to hold some of the smaller gear by using 1/4" thick ABS sheets that are available on Amazon in different sizes. It required drilling some holes in the steel arms, countersinking holes in the plastic and fixing with flat head bolts and nuts. They work quite well and, because the boutique synths are light weight, I could bolt a plastic sheet to a single arm, instead of requiring two. Cable management is another chore but a roll of strip velcro is your friend. The monitor mount is another story...that was just a day of playing around with different ideas until I was able to get a steel vesa mounting plate affixed to one of the plastic arm supports.

Very large and well constructed
This is a very large sturdy keyboard stand. I use two levels for different Midi Keyboards and have my (large) Yamaha RX-5 drum machine at the top level. I plan on buying a Moog sub37 and am not worried about the stability at all. It is very strong. If anything it is larger than I was expecting or really need in my home studio. The only downside I can see is for keyboardists who play live while sitting. When seated (on a high drum throne) the top of my head is at the top of the stand. So you would not be able to see much of the audience unless you were standing. Thats nothing to me as I am predominantly a guitarist who can play various melodies and bass lines using synths for recording. I am learning keyboards from ground up, so have no expectations of ever needing to use this "live."Definitely well worth the cost.

Looks Good
Knocked off a star for no assembly directions, but I got it assembled just fine and if you've assembled IKEA furniture you can assemble this. Comes right from P.R. China so long-term durability is a question but it looks good and holds multiple things on the support arms which can be placed anywhere on the crossbars to hold keyboards, drum machines, mixers, etc.

Neat-O
I was skeptikal at first having read some of the negative reviews about this stand, but I decided to gamble on it and I must say that I am glad I did. It's sad that Ultimate Support Systems doesn't make this style of stand anymore in the USA. Now OnStage makes this style of stand probably in China. Maybe they bought out USS stands, who knows. I have both stands and the OnStage version isn't too shabby. The plastic hardware is probably not as high quality as the plastic hardware on the old, USS version, but it seems to be sufficient, and so far so good. Weight doesn't seem to be an issue. The stand moves a bit if you shake it, but so does any other keyboard stand. I like the A frame style. It's more versatile than other styles. It also reminds me of the 80's in a really good way. The price for this stand is about $25 or $30 cheaper on Amazon as well. Other places want $129 for it. I think it's a good deal and I would buy it again if I needed another one.

Terrible Set Up/Questionable Reliability
Instructions consist of a poorly rendered schematic of the stand. Manufacturer website offers no additional help.If the stand isn’t perfectly square, it will fall apart and whatever you have on it will hit the ground. No way would I take this to gigs.My original plan was to put a vintage Fantom X8 on it but I absolutely would not trust the stand to hold it. The Fantom stayed on its current stand with my Moog. Please note that the stand is about 54 inches in length not the 31 indicated. I consider the extra space a positive. The stand is too expensive to have such poor documentation and stability. I’m keeping it but would not recommend it.
