Hurtta Active Dog Harness

Broke in 45 days. The seller was Weby Shops. They refused to replace the item. The manufacturer, Hurtta, stated it was on the retailer to fix the problem. After a run around of emails between the two companies, nothing was solved. We are left with a broken, unusable harness. Disappointed because we really liked the harness. But, if the quality can't withstand less than 2 months of use, it is pointless to recommend. Disappointed customer. Stay away from Weby Shops.

Just a warning for those that have dogs with 24" chests, this will NOT fit. I know it says 18-24" but my dog has exactly a 24" chest & it was too small. It should really be maybe 18-23", maybe even a 22" comfortably. I didn't order the next size up though because having a sighthound with a smaller neck I was worried that the neck would be too large. I really liked the harness but would have rather seen better made plastic clips on it. The ones on this harness seem to be thinner than those found on a Ruffwear harness.

This is the 2nd color of harness I have purchased from Hurtta for our 2 year old male Bullmastiff (who has an enormously large chest.....dog clothes in 3XL dont even fit him). This harness is super sturdy and durable. You can immediately tell by the feel of it that the construct is excellent and the chosen fabric is spot on. Love the adjustable straps both at the chest and the neck. Very, very easy to put on. I swear our dog actually loves it! I tried another brand that rhymes with GabbitRoo in the "same size" (XL up to 39" chest) was too small, so I returned it and bought this one instead. I will forever buy Hurtta from now on. The hi vis orange color is perfect for hiking in the woods (or wherever really) and to be able to easily spot your dog. I also really like the larger surface area of the top part that goes on the dog's back v. the other brand. Plus Hurtta has a chest plate, which the other does not, and this really helps with control and not inadvertently hurting your dog. 5 stars all the way.

This is a great harness. I have an American Staffordshire Terrier (short, stocky and thick) who is hard to fit with harnesses. He is horrible when it comes to collar pressure...as in he completely ignores it, so I was looking for a harness that might work for him. We've tried other harnesses and he never really liked them. Nor did I.I love that this is has a rear hook. Front hook harnesses don't work well for us. He seems to find this very comfortable. Doesn't rub, etc. My only complaint, and it is more a preference than a complaint, is that I would have loved to have buckles for the neck portion. My guy has a giant head. I can still get this on him without having to loosen straps and readjust, but it's a close call. It would be easier for me to get on and off him if I could unsnap it. But that has not been a showstopper for us.Really nice harness. Glad we gave it a try.

This is a really great harness! I specifically chose this one for its bright color, so that my dog is visible when she runs around off leash. It fits her pretty well, but I think it’s best suited for dogs with deep chests and small necks. Her girth measurement is 28”, so she has a few inches, but her somewhat big neck means that the neck has to be adjusted all the way up. But that’s not a big problem, it’s not horribly tight, and it gives her plenty of shoulder clearance.The straps are in her elbows, and I wish there was a pad underneath, but I’ll attribute that to her being on the high end of the 24-32.Also, this harness holds stains pretty badly. It doesn’t wash up well like others that I own. Even with vigorous scrubbing when I hand wash it, stains will not lift up, so bear that in mind if you choose a lighter color.Overall, I really like it! It’s served us well!

Would give this 6 stars if I could. We are active in performance events with our Boxers and find this harness is very easy to put on/take off and gives much more control without causing stress to shoulders or throat. We use this on a very enthusiastic well muscled but lean/athletic 70 pound Boxer during CAT (lure coursing) and find he is much easier to manage even during periods of very intense activity. There is a well attached leash clip and a handle that is easy to grab and hang on to. Highly recommend!

This works really well for our Labrador Retriever. She had neck problems from tugging on her leash when she wore a collar for walks. Now, she is easier to control, and the handle on the harness lets us lift her off the ground for additional control, plus to help her in and out of cars. One complaint: cheap plastic buckles will break under rough use, and their customer support has not contacted me after I wrote to them asking about replacement buckles. If you have a website customer support page, please check messages!Overall, this is a good product.

I ordered this is September, 2019, and by the end of November my dog was wriggling out of it every chance she got. At first I thought it was just her, but when putting it back on I realized why she was getting it off. One of the metal adjusters was broken which prevented the harness from cinching up and staying set AND it was poking her with the broken part. It was past the return time for Amazon, but they passed my complaint on to the seller. The seller simply closed the case and refused to do anything. I won't be buying anything more with the Hurta name on it.

I would recommend this as a high quality dog harness except for the size information. My dog's chest is 23 inches so I thought the 18-14inch would be just right. But it isn't. Although I can just do up the clips, it's far too tight under the armpits for him to wear without rubbing in the elbow joints.I'll have to send it back and, although the return is free of charge, it looks as if postage, customs, and freight is very expensive from abroad so no wonder the harness is very expensive too.

Thought i would try this harness as i have heard stories of dogs "backing out" of julius k9s. Arrived yesterday. Had to extend fully as my boy is right on the cusp of sizes. Fits like a glove and he seems comfortable in it. Tried it for the first time this morning and it seems the wider pressure area on his chest holds him back easier when he pullls. The handle was put to good use when 2 off leash dogs approached him. Well made and robust. My only improvement would be to maybe make the adjuster buckles metal aswell. I bought the 24-32" for my 4yr old Akita Husky cross and he is about 30kg. Only reason i didn't give 5 stars is longevity is yet to be proven.

Measured my Welsh sheepdog and she was in the small end of the measurements but my old dog's hurtta harness fit her and so we already had a size point of reference. I would say it sizes small, but luckily it fit!She has a bigger ruff than chest measurement so we've ended up with the front as big as it will go and the back close to the smallest setting! It seems to fit her enormous bony shoulders without any obvious rub points.Harness appears well made and thoughtfully designed. I would have liked a slightly larger adjustable range. I have noticed she pulls less in this too, so a big plus. It's quite solid and stiff so we phased it in over a week to avoid rubbing.

As my dog had lost weight (intentional) his old harness no longer fitted.Saw this at BFA Champs but not in this colour, so ordered it here.Arrived, fitted and dog bounding around the garden in seconds.Handle is perfect for Flyball, it’s easy to put on and adjust and the dog doesn’t know it’s on.

I have always loved this harness perfect for my dog as it also has a handle, as I have a malinois this is very helpful. The only thing That could improve this product more is if it was slightly more padded.
