Good Cable....But
This cable worked fine for the WD15 with some modifications to the dock itself. It would seem that this cable is for the TB15 and not the WD15. In the pictures you can see that the cable has these posts or nubs on either side of the connector. These posts sit inside a plastic tray within the dock, guiding it to be seated properly. In the TB15 the cable has the posts (male ends) and the plastic tray has the guide holes (female end). In the WD15 it is the opposite. In order to get this cable to work on the WD15 you have to either, cut off, grind down and drill the cable end. (not recommended) Or open the dock and remove the plastic tray or drill out the posts in the plastic tray. Myself, I just removed the plastic tray. There is a ribbon cable that sits on top of the tray that you have to be careful of not to pull out or rip. The cable is held in by 2 screws so it's secure and I'm not going to be taking this cable in and out of the dock. Taking the tray out was the easiest way for me. Of course you could just buy the correct cable. I happened to buy this one, didn't feel like returning it and then figured out the rest. Hope the helps someone.

Cable Replacement Saves Money
My Wife's Dell laptop and thunderbolt TB16 docking station were knocked to the floor when one of our dogs went charging under the work table and got tangled in computer cables. The result was a bent thunderbolt USB-C cable that would not seat properly in the Dell laptop port causing problems with the external docked monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Not realizing that the docking station cable is removable I ordered a replacement Dell TB16 docking station. It showed up but had a dual port USB-C docking station cable which wouldn't fit in the Dell Laptop. I returned the docking station and investigated the different cables USB-C cables that come with them. I figured out that I could order just the USB-C cable I needed and replace the broken one on the original TB16 docking station. This has worked out perfectly and saved me $200 dollars.

Good replacement, no issues with this, but make sure your drivers are updated.
When my OEM part literally fell apart, I ordered this as a replacement for my TB16 dock. Installed easily (pull out rubber plug on bottom of unit, remove two screws) . As mentioned, this one has a plastic shell on the dock end, whereas the oem part is metal there. Durability is not a concern there since that area is secured inside dock... one suspects the original part overheated and needed an extra heatsink of the heavy metal shell. I've noticed this gets a little warm, but not excessively so. Doesn't seem to make a functional difference. If you've had many problems with your dock, the TB cable may only be part of the issue. The early drivers were full of bugs. Google "Dell TB16 drivers" and select the top link from Dell. There are a bunch of recently updated drivers and firmware updates there. Download and apply them all. (Dell Command Update, does not find these). Applying the most recent versions cured all the many glitches I has having with the unit. So, don't blame the cable unless you've applied all these updates. This cable seems perfectly fine, and aside from the slight difference in construction mentioned above, seems otherwise identically made as the original. Very happy so far.

Perfect fit for my TB16 Dock
Works like a charm and super easy to swap out. Just lift the rubber panel from the front side, don't remove, and remove the two small screws. The old one pulls out easily and then just slide the new one in, replace the screws and the rubber panel snaps into place. You are now ready to go.Don't forget to authorize your new Thunderbolt Cable.

Wonderful description!!
Because the description was complete, we were able to order the correct part and do the replacement. This was a huge cost savings since the docking station ran over $200 vs getting a replacement cable. Even if it did not fix the problem, it was worth the price. However, in this case, it works beautifully and we are back to normal. Many thanks.

Quick OEM Quality Replacement!
My OEM cable became bent and I needed a replacement as soon as possible.Works great, if not better than my OEM cable. No issues with hot swapping and using the cable flipped on either side. Very easy to replace! There are other cables that I suspect come from the same manufacturer for slightly less. But I appreciate that this seller is offering a 12 month warranty and had the Prime shipping option.

Did not fit my WD15 dock
As a previous poster said, this cable has nubs on the end and it prevents the cable from seating properly into the dock. Also is about 18” shorter from the original. This cable does not fit and I’ll be sending it back.

Cable replacement for Dell Dock TB16
Removed the old broken cable from the dock, which was very easy. Took the new cable and inserted into the connection, tightened the screws, and connected to the monitors, keyboard, mouse and laptop. All came up without a hitch. I have now replaced cables on two of my workplace's docks and they are running great with no issues.
