Extreme Rules 2019
This DVD contains the full 2019 Extreme Rules event spread over two discs. Along with the event we get both matches from the Kickoff Show, a segment with Undertaker giving a message to Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon from RAW and a Samoa Joe and Kofi Kingston confrontation from Smackdown.Drew Gulak vs. Tony Nese - This comes from the Kickoff Show and was for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. As they always do on the pre-show, the cruiserweights delivered an entertaining, competitive match. It had a fast pace, possibly slower than other cruiserweight matches but not by much and entertaining back and forth action. It had a decent amount of time, some good near-falls and built to a good, strong finish.Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Finn Balor - This was also from the Extreme Rules Kickoff Show and was for Balor's Intercontinental Championship. It was a very good back and forth match. Both men worked hard and it made the match very enjoyable. The action was strong from start to finish, there were some good counters and it built to a strong and decisive finish. I'd have loved to have seen it on the main card and to have had it given more time but what we did get was really enjoyable and I'm glad we have it as a bonus feature.Undertaker and Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon - The first match of the main card was a No Holds Barred match. I wasn't expecting this to be very good after Undertaker's performance at Super Showdown and with Shane McMahon needing to just go away but I was pleasantly surprised. This was a really fun, entertaining opening match. For the most part they stuck to tagging in and out which I don't mind in a No Holds Barred match but I know some people do. It had some interference on Shane's behalf but the stipulation and way it was done prevented that from harming the match. It had a good amount of time, entertaining action and a good, decisive finish. A strong way to start the show and much better than I expected. The Revival vs. The Usos - This next match was for the RAW Tag Team Championships. It was a really good back and forth tag match. Both teams worked really well together and kept the action exciting. There were some good counters, near-falls and last second saves as the match went on and it built to a good, strong finish. They had a good amount of time and delivered a really enjoyable match. I feel they could do even better if they had a rematch but this was such a fun tag team contest.Aleister Black vs. Cesaro - This was a great back and forth fight. The action was non-stop from start to finish and these two both showed why they should be used on pay-per-view way more often than they are. There were plenty of strong counters and lots of strikes. Black also hurt Cesaro's leg and went on to target that a bit which I enjoyed. It had a good, strong finish that kind of came out of nowhere but that worked for the style of match they were having. I'd love to see a rematch of this fantastic fight.Bayley vs. Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross - This was a Two on One Handicap match for the Smackdown Women's Championship. I'm not a fan of the idea of handicap matches for world championships. They still managed to get an enjoyable match out of it though. It stacked the odds against Bayley having two opponents and protected Alexa as she was ill. The action was enjoyable and it felt just the right length for this kind of match. It had a clean and decisive finish and was more enjoyable than I expected it to be.Braun Strowman vs. Bobby Lashley - This was a Last Man Standing match. It was another match that was better than I expected it to be. I can't stand Bobby Lashley and his matches generally suck but this was a pretty good out-of-control brawl. They fought all over the arena and into the backstage area, using their environment as a weapon the whole time. It had some good false finishes and it built well to it's pretty big finish. One of Bobby Lashley's best matches in WWE after his two with Roman Reigns the year before.Daniel Bryan and Rowan vs. New Day vs. Heavy Machinery - This Triple Threat Tag Team match was for Bryan and Rowan's Smackdown Tag Team Championships. It was another really good match. I enjoyed the match between the champions and Heavy Machinery at Stomping Grounds and New Day only added to the match to make it even better. The action was entertaining and fast paced from start to finish with all teams working well together. There were some good near-falls and last second saves and it led to a good, decisive finish. A great, competitive tag team match. Between this match and the next match Paul Heyman makes an appearance to tease that Brock Lesnar, Mr. Money in the Bank, was going to cash in later tonight. But also that he might just be lying, "Am I telling you the truth? or am I Paul Heyman?".Ricochet vs. AJ Styles - Ricochet's United States Championship was on the line here. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson were in AJ's corner and even attacked Ricochet before the match could start. It was a really good back and forth match. Ricochet tried to use his fast pace to stay ahead while Styles tried to slow him down, although it is AJ Styles so it still wasn't exactly slow. The O.C. got involved a couple more times but it never hurt the action. The action was strong and there were some good near-falls leading to the finish which wasn't 100% clean but it was still a good one. Great match.Kevin Owens vs. Dolph Ziggler - This was kept really short which I think was the right decision on a show this long. It offers a change of pace and stops the show from dragging. It's not good as a match with the short run-time but it was an entertaining section of the show, had a good finish and it feels like exactly what should have happened. I enjoyed it a lot. Owens cuts a very good promo after the match too.Kofi Kingston vs. Samoa Joe - This was a WWE Championship match. It was another good match. Joe controlled a lot of the action with his aggressive offence while Kofi showed his resilience and tried to counter. There was some good psychology too as Joe clearly learnt from previous encounters with Kingston. It's finish was clean and decisive although it did feel like it came a bit early, I felt like they could have gone for at least five more minutes before the finish and it would have made it better but overall it was still good while it lasted.Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch vs. Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans - This was a 'Winner Take All' Extreme Rules Mixed Tag match with both Becky's RAW Women's Championship and Seth's Universal Championship on the line. It ended up being a better match than expected. Baron Corbin really shouldn't be in the main event but thankfully they at least managed to make a good match out of this. Early on they stuck to tagging in and out, I think they weren't sure how much they wanted to commit to the potential man on woman violence. The match started to break down eventually though and it got really good. The action was entertaining, there were some memorable moments and a good, strong finish. A really entertaining match. The aftermath to the match is worth watching too. This was a very good show overall. A lot of the matches, such as the main event, Lashley/Strowman, Undertaker and Roman/Drew and Shane, were better than they probably should have been and delivered enjoyable matches. The matches that should have delivered did too with AJ vs Ricochet being very good, the three way tag match being a lot of fun and Black vs. Cesaro being a great, hard hitting fight. There's nothing really bad on the show and there's a lot to like that make this an event well worth watching.

GOOD,NOT REALLY EXTREME THOUGH.
Extreme rules, where every match is...nope,sorry.where some matches are slightly brutal. (Wrong era for extreme).UNDERTAKER and ROMAN REIGNS vs SHANE McMAHON and DREW McINTYRE. To be fair, this is a much better match for the UNDERTAKER than the last event he was in. It is actually pretty good. All men have some good spots and make the match pretty enjoyable. It's no holds barred, which helps, but no classic, but to be honest,i enjoyed it.THE RIVIVAL vs THE USOS is a title match worth watching, again,no classic, but pretty good.ALEiSTER BLACK vs CESARO is very good and went past expectations, some really good moments.BAYLEY takes on both ALEXA BLISS and NIKKI CROSS with the title on the line. Far from a classic and didn't not do what i expected but it was fine for what it was.BRAUN STROWMAM has a last man standing match with BOBBY LASHLEY and it actually works really well. Some moments may not have been done well but for me the end was very entertaining.HEAVY MACHINERY vs NEW DAY vs BRYAN and ROWAN in this title match is very good. Very enjoyable and nice moments, thumbs up.RICOCHET defends against AJ STYLES and a classic would be expected. I will admit it is not a classic but it is very good and shows these two can really go,a classic between them is surely to come.KEVIN OWNS take on DOLPH ZIGGLER in a don't blink match, the after promo is good though.KOFI KINGSTON vs SAMOA JOE for KOFI's title is an enjoyable watch without being a great match. No surprises,no major stuff but fine.BECKY LYNCH teams with lover SETH ROLLINS and go against BARON CORBIN and LACEY EVANS in a mixed tag extreme rules match which is quite extreme in places,a really nice table moment and the end is a bit of a shock factor. Pretty good, but brilliant,no. The after match i expected so did not annoy me. Did what it had to really. So yeah,a very good event without being what extreme should be. Though that one main event moment was very well done.Very good, just no classic.
