HogueRubber Grip Govt. Model Rubber Grip with Finger Grooves, Desert Tan

This was a perfect fit for my Springfield Armory Garrison. I did have to purchase standard length grip screws because the ones SA used are a tad bit short for this grip. I love the comfort and good, solid grip this product adds. I run these grips on all of my 1911's. The factory slim wood grips look fantastic but don't offer much in the way of a secure grip. You won't regret adding these grips to your 1911.

great Houge grips, very tight fit but if you use a hair dryer on low the grips will loosen up just enough to line up with the screw holes, great fit and finish. I would buy again.

I was initially unsure of the fit based on some of the other reviewers' need to use a heat gun to soften the grip so it would fit and using a knife to trim parts. I took a chance and am pleased to find that it fits my Springfield Armory Mil-Spec Parkerized 1911 perfectly! There is no need to heat up the grip (whew!), and the installation took just a couple of minutes. There is no looseness or tightness anywhere. The grip has a great satin feel with just a slight amount of give, which hints at some ability to absorb some of the recoil energy without being spongy. This grip feels much better in my hand than the stock wood grips. The wood grips were starting to rub my palms enough to make them raw after 50 rounds. These new grips will hopefully solve that issue and provide more control with the finger grooves. The look is pleasing (doesn't have a cheap appearance), and the base of the magazine flows nicely with the bottom of the grip (doesn't stick out in the front like they did with the wood grips). Overall I'm very pleased with these grips and am looking forward to getting some range time on them.

Installed these on a Para Ordnance 1911, to replace factory smooth plastic grips. With the factory grips the pistol shifted quite a bit in my hands when firing heavier loads. The Hogue grips feel great, have appropriate somewhat tacky surface but are solid rubber, so no spongy feeling. The only negative is that they were very difficult to install. I could not stretch the grip panel enough to fit the last hole in the grip over the grip bushing on the gun. Finally I bought a cheap strap wrench with a rubber strap. This gave me enough leverage to finally get the final hole in the grip over the grip bushing. The Hogue grips have proper relieved areas for clearance around plunger tube, off side mag release, and mainspring retaining pin. The grips look and feel great, but they sure were a bear to install.

nothing to dislike here, enhances the feel and control of the pistol making it feel like and extension of your arm. These grips fit my hand shape perfectly and install easily

Love this grip. Fits great, on the gun and in the hand. However, there is a very special way to install it. Not in the instructions, but be patient and imaginative.

Excellent grip. fit the gun like skin. Really comfortable in my hands and fits very well compared to the original. shoot much better instantly, such a difference and make me want another 1911. Highly recommended!
