Helped reduce but not eliminate odor.
I box about 3/4 times a week. Bought these in May to use in the gloves that I've been boxing with since February. After some time of using them, I can see how other customers say that the item is poorly made, however, the item has not ripped on me. In terms of how it works to eliminate odor, my gloves were very stinky and the glove dogs have tremendously reduced and maintained the odor. It did not eliminate the odor completely. Maybe it will if I use with brand new gloves. The glove does itself have also absorbed some of the glove odor. Not sure if that is normal. I do wonder, how often am I suppose to buy new glove dogs? or is one suppose to last a lifetime?

Really great to help dry out gloves
This is great... I've been using it for months now and even though the smell is not as powerful any longer, the woodchips inside really help to suck out the moisture of my heavily used gloves. Stitching is OK (others have said it rips easily, but I haven't experienced that.Fresh out of the box, they smell incredible. My gloves saw a lot of use before i got this, so they still have some smell to them, but this makes it very manageable! If used with a new pair of gloves, the sweat smell is significantly reduced and can probably add a lot more life to gloves that are simply left to air dry.

A good first step but you'll need more
If you are used to air-drying your gloves these are a significant improvement. At first they will leave a nice cedar scent but eventually your gloves will smell just as they did before. Instructions they don't give you: Leave them in for only a day, then take them out and dry the dogs and the rest of your gloves, which will still be moist. If you leave the dogs in the gloves you're basically just leaving the moisture in there. The dogs are great for sucking up the heavy stuff but you'll need another way to circulate air into the gloves to dry them out.

As advertised
If you're looking for something that deodorizes your gloves minus damaging them, the glove dogs from Revgear are awesome! The cedar smell is faint, so it doesn't overpower the gloves or cabinet that I keep my gloves in. You can even leave the glove dogs in your gym bag, which beats using dryer sheets. If you have larger gloves and want a stronger smell, I would suggest buying two pair and doubling them up. The felt material is soft, so it won't damage the inner padding of your gloves. They product isn't heavy duty, so you probably shouldn't carry your gloves by the black straps. Overall the product meets my criteria and the shipping was fast-I live in Hawaii and got them a day sooner than estimated.

Ok, but funky smell
I use these and they keep out the hand funk smell, but replace it with an odd ba$tard child of potpourri tree bark. The ingredients that kills germs has a distinct scent which although better than sweaty gloves is pretty rank.ProsGreat designGood qualityLast long timeConsSmell

its nice to finally find a cheap and practical product that ...
after kickboxing for the last 15 years and writing a book on the subject, its nice to finally find a cheap and practical product that never fails. I have several of these because I have 16 oz bag gloves, 16 oz sparring gloves, AND i use another set for my training mitts for when im coaching mitt work. completely removes any moisture and insures no smell will follow.*make sure you buy a lysol disinfectant wipe or spray to use on the outside of your gloves as well.

They work
Never had glove dogs before. With always airing out my gloves and always wearing wraps, I imagine it will take a long time before my gloves get stanky anyways. Regardless, they are simple, and they work. Can probably make a pair pretty easily out of your local arts and crafts store, but whichever you prefer.

It's a good glove dog but treat it gently!
Good glove dog but could use a stronger seam, or don't walk around with it hanging out.The seams came off when I hung my 16oz gloves outside my bag due to the impacts generated from walking. It's all good now after I got a seamstress to repair and reinforce them for me!
