Pays for itself in your saved time
If you have a Tom Tom with Traffic updates you need this for those to work. The cord that came with our Tom Tom saw use 10 times a week at least because my wife uses it to get to and from work and avoid the horrible traffic in the MD, DE, VA area that she drives. It worked for over 2 years and then it just stopped one day. This one works perfectly fine but there are a few things we've learned. For some reason it doesn't like new Fords. I used a new Ford C-Max Hybrid and a Ford Focus for work the last few weeks and I had to wiggle these in the socket to get them to connect. The sockets seem deeper and more temperamental than the sockets on the Chevy vehicles that we own. I've used this on a Fiat and many other types of cars and never noticed that problem until these two cars. I checked it by plugging in to our car and it connected right up with no problems so I think it is something in the sockets on those two cars at least. (New Ford Focus and C-Max Hybrid with about 2K miles on each.)The Traffic reporting isn't everywhere. This will sometimes tell you to divert to roads that it doesn't get traffic information on. These are usually smaller roads with one lane and I'm not surprised it isn't monitoring those yet. The problem is that if the Interstate or highway you're on is clogged then the side roads probably are also by everyone following their GPS to divert or those that live in/know the area. The Tom Tom we have at least doesn't tell you where it is diverting when it asks if you want to, it just says it found a quicker route. We've learned not to take that in some areas and we just hope it's right when we're travelling.Overall I love the Tom Tom, I love the service, and you need this cord to make those work so this is pretty good. I'm just dinging one star because of the random diversions it takes sometimes and because the last one died with no warning and no outward physical sign, though we did use it constantly for years as I said.

Keep checking the screw at the tip!
My first cable was great, wonderful, and amazing... until I realized that I had forgotten to check and tighten the gasket/screw at the tip that holds in the fuse. Suddenly, I no longer had a working cable. It had fallen apart a couple times before this, but I hadn't checked it in a while. Big mistake!I have lifetime traffic, which is useless without this charging cable, and it definitely helps me on my commute. Unfortunately, I know that the traffic information isn't updated as often or accurately as it could be in the DC metro area. I have taken my on-ramp onto 95 S on many days to end up in stand still traffic that my TomTom didn't believe existed. It's a regular occurance, so you would think that it would have figured it out by now.Basically, if you need this cable, then you need it. No surprise there. If you don't need the traffic receiver, check to see if the charger cable has the same gasket/screw arrangement on the tip. If not, you may wish to consider getting the charger with out traffic receiver instead.Updated 11/14/2012:My new cable is holding up well. I haven't had any issues with the tip coming loose at all. I'm not sure if I received an updated version of the cable and there are still more of the old stock out there on the market, or if I managed to just get one of the good ones.I hope that all of you who have or need to purchase a charger cable will continue to check the tip to make sure the screw isn't coming loose. I have never tried to Unscrew the tip on my new one, but I do regularly check to make sure that it hasn't moved by attempting to lightly tighten it. (Finger tighten with gentle fingertips vs trying to cram the cap on a 2 liter bottle of soda. I'm notorious for tightening soda caps so hard that wrestlers can't remove them without help.)

Works perfectly
We bought a TOMTOM 340TM two years ago and about a year ago, our charger/traffic antenna cable broke mysteriously. Ever since then, we have been using the universal car chargers that you can easily find at a number of stores such as Walmart. The universal car charger's cable was too small so one of us had to hold the GPS while the other drove around but since it was working fine, we didn't bother buying the official charger.Only recently, the generic charger broke in the car so I decided to spend a few bucks on this (universal chargers are quite cheap). The packaging was good but the charger didn't come in a branded company box that you'd expect but that's not a problem at all. This thing works like a charm and now my TOMTOM 340TM can also receive traffic instructions which is a sweet feature to have. The reason I am not going to give this a 4 star rating is the price. These accessories are extremely cheap to produce and to charge $30+ for a simple power charger cord is not cool. If I had purchased this from their site, it would have costed me $69-$79 which is even more insane.

Empfehlenswert.
Also doch Internetbestellung!
