A diamond in the rough
I won't lie, I was VERY skeptical ordering this. But I figured that if its not great, I could sell it. After getting it, this package is amazing for the money. I am definitely keeping it! I own/have owned $5,000+ models and some $100 "disposable" axes and I was shocked at this beautiful guitar. First off, the flamed top is gorgeous. It doesn't have a cheap look to it. The fret board is so so but you cant expect too much here. The frets don't have sharp edges and nicely done. The sealed tuners are smooth and after a minute of the inital tuning (with the included chromatic tuner), I played it for a few hours and it kept proper tune. The overall tone of the guitar is warm and projects well. I got absolutely no rattle or vibration. Then I plugged into the included amp. I will admit, the amp isn't great but but its a free practice amp. So I plugged into my Peavey and man....it sounds awesome. It also came with a so so gig bag, few picks, a strap, a truss rod key, sorta cheap guitar cord, an extra set of strings, and batteries for both the tuner and for the preamp on the guitar. Speaking of that, its a 3 band EQ with a gain control, volume and a battery checker. I paid $140 for all of this and I will say that this is one of the best deals I have gotten in almost 37 years of me playing. If you want a good practice guitar and can even play a show, don't pass this one up. The guitar alone is worth 3x of what the whole package costed me. I think I'll check out more Glen Burton guitars.

Apparently its okay to expect more from this guitar than you would from another "cheap" guitar
While there is no such thing as "cheap" when talking about the price of a guitar (that isn't a toy), this one is above what one would easily expect of a "cheap" guitar. I would even go so far as to say that in my 30 + years of owning/learning/playing guitars, I've never purchased one that I didn't immediately have to file down the nut, adjust the bridge, reset the neck etc, just to get the action set so that it wasn't painful to play... in layman's terms... most guitars , when purchased new, have the strings set so high above the neck that you have to press so hard on them to play, it can be so painful that you dread picking up the instrument... this scares alot of people off from learning in the first place, or makes it very hard to focus on learning.I don't usually do reviews... I can only echo what the other good reviews have already pointed out... its a $140.00 price tag... so don't expect perfection.. but I simply had to mention the action, as I didn't see where anyone else had mentioned it.. Out of the box, the action is as good as any guitar I have (all of which were taken to a local shop where they had to be adjusted to be playable). I will be changing the strings out to something more to my liking, you'll probably want to do the same, however they'll do fine if you're a beginner and just want to get started. But again, my main purpose of this review is focused on the playability of this guitar. I took it out of the box, tuned it (tuner worked well) with the strings it had on it already, and played it rough for around an hour to stretch the strings good, retuned it, then played for 4+ hours, and it only went a little flat in that time. Wipe the strings down really good, this will prevent "some" of the graying that will happen to your finger tips from the new strings, and enjoy it.I rated it overall 5 stars, because it is "more" than I should expect for the price. For that same reason, I also rated the features 5 stars each. The Craftsmanship is "better" than you should expect for the price. The action makes it very easy on the fingers (when compared to "cheap" guitars) which makes it much easier to focus on learning chords/method when beginning so because of that AND the price, it gets 5 stars for "for beginners". For a "full size" acoustic guitar, they don't get any "easier to hold", so it gets 5 stars for that.Tuner: worksAmp: it is a 10w practice amp, and it worksEQ/Preamp: works quite well, was surprised at the bass I was able to get on the small ampThere is a small scuff mark on the face which was covered with finish before it was spotted, but its easily overlooked for the price.I haven't seen this playability straight out of the box on a guitar less than $300.00(and pawn shop guitars are often even less playable as they've been abused by everyone wanting to "try it out" while it was there)

i was pretty impressed. It has a nice faded denim finish ...
so , i will firstly say that the initial shipment was damaged and never made it to my door. once it did, i was pretty impressed. It has a nice faded denim finish on the top. has some finish imperfections along the neck, but is only slightly cosmetic and doesn't really bother me. I changed out the head tuners and replaced them with locking pegs and had it professionally set up. plays great. the neck is a little thicker than i would normally like. More like a modern C than a D. D's are where its at. Amp was a throw away practice amp. i have better one. I play it through my amp distorted and it sounds good, although you can turn it too loud. I also have a gig bag that is padded better. BUT, i still love it. has a great sound and after all, thats what is important.

Beautiful top high action
Have purchased several of these and all have same general positives and negatives. Plastic nuts all need cleaned out, fretboards dry, string height high, some of the tuner nuts loose. All these issues can be improved fairly easily. I spent about an hour on each one I received, once a set up is done, and fretboard oiled, they are a great value. I did replace a few of the plastic nuts with bone ones I made, also replacing strings with higher quality ones helped. Amplifier is good, especially for home use or playing in smaller rooms. Gig bag is about useless, but other accessories I found adequate. Flame top veneer pretty, gloss finish nice, transparent red mahogany back, sides, neck and headstock are attractive. Frets are a medium to thinner thickness, fret ends needed touched up a little bit not terrible. EQ system works fine, sounds clear through amplifier.

Great Guitar
The media could not be loaded. I really love the guitar. I decided to pick the guitar back up after stopping for few years. It took about three days to come after initial purchase; I ordered it on a Friday night and received it on Monday morning. The guitar is really beautiful. The kit includes three picks, guitar (of course!), amplifier, guitar strap, and guitar bag. The amp is really not that great due to the fact that it is really low. The guitar audio sounds the same with and without the amp. The only plus is that you can manipulate the guitar equalization with the amp. The customer service was really great, when I had issues it was solved right away!
