nice idea, works well and clean.
A real nice idea and works well, clean looking.Wanted to hang non-functioning but real M1 carbine and M1 Garand (heavy), along with a replica M14 and replica1911 in my home office.Soo much of the stuff out there is pretty gaudy. These are clean and minimalistic, and I thought a little pricey. But there was nothing else out there. They do fill a niche market. After contacting the seller (good response time), he assured me the depth of the dowels and such on the "Civil War Revolver" style is the same as the ones for the rifles, I went for the "Civil War Revolver" style. Premium Horizontal Wall Mounts for Civil War Revolvers (Made in the USA) I didn't the top dowel over the barrel (as the suggested Rifle versions have : Premium Solid Walnut Horizontal Rifle Mounts for an Antique Rifle (Made in the USA) ), and not being in an earth quake prone area, seemed safe enough to go with the "Civil War Revolver" style ( Premium Horizontal Wall Mounts for Civil War Revolvers (Made in the USA) ) that doesn't have the 2nd hanger with the two dowels.Got the the rifles hung, but not the 1911 yet.The hardware that comes with the mounts is good quality. The sheetrock wall anchor is one of the best/better designs in the market, that have the pointed end so you can start it with a hammer, and than a very deep screw thread to finish setting it, by screwing it in.I still drilled a starter hole just smaller than the shank of the anchor.Worked great, the anchors started real easy, and screwed in w/o mashing the sheetrock into crumbs. They didn't cheap out with old cheapo style wall anchors. With that said, I wouldn't hang a 10lb rifle with just the wall anchors on both hangers. The hanger that goes in the trigger guard, I used a 2" #6 screw into a stud. When hanging the rifle horizontal level, most of the weight will near the trigger guard on most rifles. The one out under the barrel, yup the supplied anchor and screw worked great, so you can pick your spot on the hollow of the wall.Hanging a pistol with the anchors would be just fine.I did some "testing" with the 1911, the balance seems off, when level it wants to flip up, and I think the dowels will be a bit big , and dominate the pistol, not sure yet, still have to play with it.But for the rifles, provide a very clean flexible installation / presentation.

They work great. Look great supporting an old shotgun on the wall. I know these are advertised as "pistol mounts," but they are plenty long enough and sturdy enough to support an old Browning A-5.

Easy to install and looks good
These are a little pricey but worked perfectly to mount my Mosen Nagant, Garand and Mauser. Easy to install and looks good.

A little expensive but it does the job
Agree with most others who say it's overpriced but it does exactly what I was looking for it to do. It is simply a piece of milled plastic and the support on which the gun rests is rubberized. I was looking for somethinga little more contemporary than a traditional scrolled wooden support and it looks very sharp. It seems more than adequate to secure my Spencer carbine which is about 9 pounds. Note, there is only one hole through which to attach a screw to the wall so make sure your anchor is able to handle the weight.

Nice quality
This is a nice pistol mount. This is the only mount that I found for a pistol that wasn't over powering.

Expensive, but nice mounts.
Kind of expensive for what they are, but was exactly what I was looking for. Good quality and was shipped quickly. I didn't like the rifle version they had for these, but I am using this for my M44 and it works great.

Cheap plastic
These mounts are advertised as being made of oak. They're just cheap plastic. What a crock! They're worth $5 max.
