I wouldn't want to screw the knob on the door but to glue a magnet to the inside of the base. Is there enough space for such a magnet to cover it?

What size drill hole is required to fit the knobs?

You will need a Mortice latch or Mortice lock to use these handles. The hole should be large enough to accommodate the handle stile which is approx 10-12mm. As I remember they came with screws that bit themselves into the wood so no pilot hole drilled.

It says thickness 8mm, how can that be right?? Can someone please tell me how far these knobs project from the door? Thanks.

It is 60mm which is the height , the 8mm is how thick the material is
