Everlast Speed Bag Platform (EA)

For the price this is definitely a great product. It's built well enough and the wooden platform is heavy enough that it works perfectly and doesn't wobble or bounce around. That was my main concern when buying this because I've read a lot of reviews of other products and the main issue is when a platform isn't strong and heavy enough and the bag won't bounce properly. This setup was very easy to install to my cinderblock garage wall and it works great. I would highly recommend this to someone looking to get into speedbag workouts and even someone that routinely boxes. I wouldn't recommend this for a gym because if people are pounding on it all day long it won't last more than a couple years. But great for a homeowner.

This nearly-gym-quality speedbag platform is very solidly built, works very well, and - with a separately purchased speedbag - can really take a pounding. (It even came with a high quality swivel mount, so I did not need the one I'd ordered separately). One annoying thing was that this set doesn't include the simple 1/4 inch lag bolts (and washers) needed to attach it to a normal wood stud wall. The printed directions were very minimal with obvious translation errors (like the reference to a "wool stud wall"), so really only the single drawn diagram of the assembly in it was useful. The instructions could have given much better specific guidance on how high to mount the whole assembly on the wall, to get the (not included) speedbag at the right height - to make the built-in height adjustments (which can only adjust up and down about a foot) more useful. Still, it works great once up!

First and foremost, just throw the directions in the trash. They'll just add time to your installation. This is super easy to install. You have 4 bolts for mounting the metal guides to the wood. You have 4 more bolts with washers and locking nuts for mounting the board to the metal slides. Last, you have 4 smaller bolts for the swivel. Super easy, just find your 4 studs. Also, go to your hardware store and get 4 1/4" lag bolts or other for mounting to studs. This is a solid 4 stars for me. My only complaint is the design of the slides means the whole thing needs to be mounted incredibly high. Even positioning this fully up, the platform is still a good 10 inches from the top. Being 6'3, I have the top wood mount as high as it will go in my 7'5 finished basement. That puts the bottom wood mount at roughly 5'3.5. It works for me, but a small bag's thickest part is at about my chin. I'd prefer it higher maybe 1-2 inches, but I can't slide it up any higher. I'd say take your body height and subtract 6-7inches. Mount the bottom wood there. So 6' tall mount the bottom at 5'5-5'6. That will get you near the middle of the platform's height. For anyone 6' or taller, make sure your ceiling is at least 8' so you have room. Anyway, I do enjoy this. Not a bad setup for the price; even with the swivel that came with it.

Great bag platform for the home gym!! I bought the "Elite" speedbag platform after reading the reviews and must say I'm glad I did. The Elite is a rock solid. You won't loose speed or rhythm to the movement of a flimsy frame or board. Mine came with Everlast's NEW style chrome plated Pro swivel that allows bag removal with the pulling of a simple cotter pin. (Not the hard to use old "Pro" style galvanized swivel with the chain link.) Coupled with a leather 4214 speed bag, this is one GREAT workout station! I'd like to address some of the "issues" that that others have mentioned that might make you think twice about the Elite: First, and obviously, you will need tools to assemble and install. A drill, drill bit, #2 Phillips head screw driver, tape measure, Torpedo (magnetic is a plus) level, and adjustable wrench will do the trick. These are all basic tools even if you live in an apt. If you don't already own these, you should... These tools will be easy to find if you don't want your own a tool kit. Mounting Hardware: This unit comes with all the hardware needed EXCEPT the fasteners to mount the horizontal wood pieces to the wall. This is reasonable, since Everlast has no idea where you'll hang your unit. Why add to the cost of the unit by adding a bunch of un-needed hardware? - To mount through ½" drywall into wood studs, I used 4 ea - 5/16" x 4" Lag Screws, and washers (Cost about $2.00 total at Lowes), plus a longer drill bit to pre-drill the wall studs for the Lag Screws ($5.00 at Lowe's, but will go into my toolbox and be usable long after this project is done.) Lowe's sales folks can help you decide which is the best hardware for your application. I usually like to span 3 studs when hanging stuff, too, but this kit is set-up to attach to two, at 16". This is absolutely not a problem, my platform does not move what so ever. Ceiling Height: I'm 6'1 and set mine about 4 inches down from an 8ft ceiling. I'm using the top setting, (bottom of the bag about mid nose height) so if you are much taller, you may want to hang a little higher. Instructions: It really doesn't need any... There are only 8 separate parts, plus fasteners. A simple look at the front of the box (or the Amazon product photo) will show you how every thing assembles. Just start by figuring how high your top wood needs to be and work your way down. Keep things plumb and level. Took my son and I about 1.5 hours to install, and we were clowning around much of the time. All in all, this is the perfect set-up for my family and friends. I highly recommend this unit!

As a beginner, this is a perfect starting place. I used the excellent review that was left on this stand to help guide the install and mounting. Worked out perfectly. The hardware recommended was right on as well. Being a perfectionist, there were a ton of things that I noticed like terrible welds, uneven holes on the wood runners, and how thin the frame was in general. However, after mounting it into some studs and putting up a Cleto Reyes small bag, the vibration and noise is actually less than I thought. It is a little more solid with a couple pounds on top, but I don't feel the need for a full 40-60lbs of sandbag or similar. May just be that the impacts are less severe with the small and well-built bag. It's also nice that the bag is soft enough to use without wraps. All in all, happy with the purchase, but I'll be making DIY upgrades as I go along to improve on the base design. This is a perfect starting place though.

Amazing price to quality ratio on this product. Looks a lot better than the slightly cheaper model. Was quite simple to install by myself and works great. It is quite noisy, like all speed bags. Keep that in mind and you won't be disappointed.

Hooked - solid needs to be put up high if you want to make best use of the adjustable runners. As I'm the only one using this though I just set it to my height. Very addictive once you start to get the rhythm down.

Ottime prestazioni nonostante, il prezzo sia nettamente più contenuto di altri prodotti simili ben più costosi. Altropregio, regolabile. In altezza. Unico neo, istruzioni di montaggio in inglese, ma basta usare la logica e si monta. P. S. : non fidatevi del tutorial di montaggio di un ragazzo.asiatico su Youtube che ne sbaglia totalmente il montaggio per poi, a 2/3 dal tutorial (sbagliato), stacca e ci fa vedere lui che si diverte con la speedbag montata, stavolta per bene.
