Standard Motor Products FJ460 Fuel Injector (MFI)

I installed these on a 2000 F150 4.2L V6 and they are excellent. These injectors come with the O rings pre-installed.Upon opening the package; I found a slip of paper explaining that the injector inlet will be visually different from the original injectors.It went on to explain that SMP redesigned the injector inlet and screen filter so that they would be less prone to clogging than the original design. I love things like this, when companies take it up on themselves to solve design issues, everyone wins.If you are doing this job on a 4.2L; You will also need to order an intake plenum gasket. The plenum needs to be removed in order to access the injectors.While you're at it, now would be a great time to replace the fuel injector connectors. The little clips that you pinch to remove the plugs WILL break off, probably all of them. If you don't want to replace them; run a zip tie down through the tab opening on the plug, around the back of the injector and back through the zip tie head - this works well.If you do want to replace them, it's pretty easy. Search on here for "fuel injector connector pigtails" and get the 8 pack, this way if you mess one up, you've got spares. Next, search for "terminal pin removal tools" get the cheap set with like 100 different pieces in the zipper pouch, they work fine. Watch a video on how to remove the pins from the plug so that you don't break anything. Then, de-pin the new pigtails as well as your old broken connectors. Push your injector wires into the new connectors until you hear a "click" and you're done.I see you looking at those $69 sets of Chinese garbage fuel injector shaped objects... stop it. Trust me, you want no part of that. Standard Motor Products is always a safe bet.
