Mounting brackets weren't satisfactory for me.
Ok, here is the thing... Dont buy any floating shelves that are not deep enough to support themselves. The idea behind these shelves is not bad, in concept, but, in practice, you get shelves that are not level and aren't secured to the wall.I liked the look of the shelves, but after mounting them, I wasn't satisfied that they were level and tight. So, I bought some decorative cast iron shelf brackets. I threw away the hardware that came with the shelves and installed them with the new brackets so they were no longer "floating" shelves.Of course, that means that all I got for my original purchase was three peices of sanded and stained Douglas Fir 2 x 6. I could have done that myself.

Great Product and Great Look
I have had my eyes on a set of floating shelves for a while and was so excited when these shelves came in. The shelves came in a set of three and were relatively easy to install. They were the perfect size as wall decor, but are still very functional. It also came with all the nuts and bolts needed for the installation. The shelves themselves are made of beautiful wood and had a great finish. The quality of the shelves themselves really exceeded my expectations and was worth the extra couple of dollars. They were pretty much everything I was looking for and I could see myself buying this as a gift in the future.

Stay away
This is a horrible investment. Wood came warped and looks crooked when hung up. The hanging system was probably the most error prone I have seen for hanging floating shelves. Do not buy this product

I love these shelves!
These shelves are just what I was looking for. Installation was a little more difficult than expected just because we hit studs with two of them. Had to use a drill. Love the end result. (There was a small chip on one shelf, but nothing that a sharpie couldn’t take care of- it was tiny.)

Definitely worth the extra couple dollars
The finish on these shelves is even better than I was expecting!I can’t wait to get them up in my living room I just need to decide where to put them haha...I sent a message to the Modern Cottage Facebook page asking about studs vs drywall and they messaged me back straight away.Finally some quality customer service!Definitely recommend so far, I’ll update my pictures when I finish decorating!!

Exactly what I’ve been looking for!
The walnut stain on these is exactly what I wanted! (needed something to match my bed frame). Plus the boards are so smooth and actually smell nice. I was a bit skeptical of not having to use a drill but after watching their video guide it was actually really easy… I’ve got 2 pot plants and a my alarm clock on the bottom shelf and it’s holding up great! Just bought another set for my bathroom(:

Shelves are sturdy and beautiful, solid wood. Mounting brackets are stable but challenging to make sure the shelves were level.
