Buy Encyclopedia of Plants and Flowers on desertcart.com โ FREE SHIPPING on qualified orders Review: Fantastic Book - I love this encyclopedia, it includes so many awesome plants. I will say that this book is very much aimed toward gardening applications, and is more for the home gardener than for botanical applications. I love the flower catalog, which is very fun and helpful to look through. The encyclopedia is useful, but since it is organized by scientific names instead of common names, you will need to know the scientific name of whatever plant you are trying to look up. Review: An amazing resource - This is one of those "keep forever" books that every plant/flower/tree growing enthusiast needs. A bargain at almost any price, the sheer amount of useful information and beautiful photography will keep you engaged now and in the years to come. You will not regret this purchase.

An amazing, comprehensive addition to my library
An AMAZING, comprehensive addition to my gardening book library. The sheer amount of information contained in the 700+ pages is incredible. There is a plant selector section divided into 23 categories that recommends plants based on site, soil, sun/shade, purpose. The plant catalog section has plant portraits and descriptions of 4000 plants divided into groups: trees (including conifers), shrubs, roses, climbers and wall shrubs, perennials (including grasses, bamboos, rushes, sedges, and ferns), annuals, biennials, and bedding plants, rock plants, bulbs, water and bog plants, and tender and exotic plants. The plants dictionary section contains an additional 4000 recommended plants. This is a โkeep foreverโ book that Iโm sure that I will return to again and again to help me find the perfect plant for wherever I may need to put one.

Upside down cover.
First of all, this book is ENORMOUS. Itโs heavy, but for good reason. It is full of everything I can think of that would be useful to know about flower gardens. Beautiful photos and very clear and organized layout. I love it! Worth every penny. Somehow, I received a book that has an upside down hardcover. So bizarre. ๐คฃ The inside, when right side up, makes the cover upside down. I donโt care to return it. Iโll just deal with it.

Beautiful Book!
I love every book I've ever gotten from DK (Penguin Random House) Publishers. Their ability to make clean aesthetic concise and informative books is just breathtaking. This book is such a treasure. We have it on our coffee table because we're avid gardeners and like to have the reference handy when dreaming up new projects.

Excellent reference book.
LOVE this book! The only negative I have is that the format is a little confusing to figure out. I would have liked the list of the common names in the front of the book instead of the back. Once I got use to how to look up a plant I find it very easy to use. Tons of wonderful information and beautiful photos. Definitely my first book to pick up when I am researching a plant.

Really high quality
I couldn't believe how big this book was when I got it. It was a gift for a friend and fell in love with it. I bought this as an art reference book for her and I really think it will work perfectly for that! There are so many pictures and a nice amount of information. Great book. I might buy myself one!

I spend each late winter/early spring pouring myself over this book. I had the earlier copy [which I've practically worn out, so needed a new one. Thank you for the information and lovely photographs.

If I lived in the UK I would say this is the best garden book I ever saw but living in Canada it is not as good. They feature with photographs certain plants and varieties of plants that they think are particularly good but most of the plants they feature won't grow well in Canada zone 5 or less. The book is still very interesting and useful though. If you live in a wet zone 8 climate the book is fantastic.

Great reference book. Love that it's laid out by size and colour, as well as type and genus. I highly recommend this book.
