John Deere's Powerful Idea: The Perfect Plow (Story Behind the Name)

I buy this kind of book to inform my grandson about different great Americans but I always love it when I get new information myself. We all know the name John Deere but do you know the story? It's very interesting.

This item was purchased for a local library in memory of a very special friend who loved farming. It was all he knew and all he drove and restored were John Deere. The library has told me that it is a popular book amongst the patrons.

An easy to read history of the John Deere Company.

I like to book, the illustrations are beautiful, and the story is basic, but decent. The quality of the physical book is very disappointing, however. Especially since this is a gift for a young boy. The binding is super bendable, and not in a good way. I don't expect the book to last long.

Perfect for my son who loves John Deere tractors and learning about how they started

We love John Deere. The mowers, the tractors, the hats, etc. got this book to read to our five year old son and three year old daughter. In the first page, the dad abandons his family and sets the stage for what is a depressing story. Maybe it’s not supposed to be for kids, but they were not into it AT ALL. And they can usually handle heavier subject matter as long as it’s in context. This was not a fun story, and the pictures weren’t impressive, either. Not a good buy.
