My First Gratitude Journal: A Write-in, Draw-in Gratitude Journal for Kids

Perfect!
I purchased two of these for gifts for youngsters, ages 9 and 6. Counting my blessings daily, and viewing everything in my life from a place of gratitude, I feel I can say with confidence that this book will help children learn about gratitude and the value of appreciating everything in their lives.

I Love this item!
This is a great item that I cannot wait to give to my daughter. It is a wonderful way to teach her to be grateful. She loves to write so I know that she will really like this journal.

Not Much Here
This little book has a great premise, but really, there is not much to it at all. Every page is exactly the same: a place to write the date at the top, and 4 lines of "I am grateful"... each followed by two lines for the child to write something. Inserted every few pages is a blank page to draw rather than write, and expression of gratitude. The font used in this book looks sloppy. I bought this to review because I do a lot of workshops for peace education with teachers and thought this might be something I could recommend, but I won't.

Cute little book
Love this little book! A great way to get my granddaughter started on a life-long healthy habit of using gratitude in her everyday life. I don't think you can ever start too young! And she's enjoying it. So that's a big thing!

Adorable cover...and that's where it ends.
It's hard to even find words for how disappointed I am by this book. ;( I have kept gratitude journals for years; it's a great passion of mine. now that my 6 year old is old enough to write on his own, I thought this would be a fabulous surprise for him, as he's often asking me what I'm writing. The cover was adorable -- and this is the perfect example of why we should never judge a book by its cover! Here's what you actually get with this journal:Page after page of the same prompt (with a tiny little drawing that varies by the page, but which is the same size as the text) -- today is....20__. and then "I am grateful for" written 4 times down the page, with two small lines for writing following. Interspersed are pages that are blank and have a prompt about "no writing today! draw what you're grateful for" (that's a paraphrase). That is it!And forget about the content (or lack there-of): 1. The paper isn't even thick enough to allow for pen to be used without showing through the page. I guess pencil might work. Markers are out of the question; Crayola washables practically bleed right through. 2. The binding of the book makes it hard to open it flat enough to write beyond the first few pages. 3. The author's name is printed at the top of every left-hand page, the title of the book at the top of the right hand pages. Why on earth? What journal does that? The fact that it uses just a basic, all caps font up there, just detracts from the last redeeming quality of the book (I like the font that the prompts are written in :) ).I suppose that this is a gratitude journal, so I won't give it the 1 star I think it deserves. But for a little kid's first gratitude journal? Where is the fun, inspirational stuff? Even adult gratitude journals have little fun, inspirational quotes or drawings throughout! For a fun (though still with too-thin-of-paper) gratitude journal that my kids actually do love, check out Buddha Doodles Gratitude Journal -- Molly's illustrations appear at the top of every page, and are so adorable. The book is about the size of a composition notebook, and it doesn't have unlined space for drawings, but it's filled with inspiration and we use the quotes as a dinnertable discussion prompt a lot. ;)

Boring :-( Buy a different journal for your kids, or the Buddha Doodle one is great for them as well.
I have to agree with the previous review. There is nothing fun about this journal. My daughter wants to steal my Buddha Doodle journal because it is beautiful. I will be buying one for her to replace this one. This unfortunately is not worth the price. The pages look like they were printed in a basement, and the prompts are the same on every page. The over all look of this is very very amateur, and not in a fun adorable way. There are way better journals out there for kids, and honestly the ones for adults would get more praise from my 9 year old.

Wonderful way to help a child reflect on their day
My son aged four loves going over his day, what he has done, what was great, what was difficult. So this book has been a welcome addition to our night time ritual and a really positive way to end the day, and start a life long fundamental skill of practicing gratitude for what we have. It also astounds me the things my son pinpoints, to have me write for him. He gets the concept, completely and from his pure essence and soul. It’s uplifting for me to hear what he is truly thankful for. A great way for parents to really connect with their little ones. Thank you

Not for kids, no illustrations or colours. Just text.
The media could not be loaded. I thought this was for children given the choice and the reviews. There is no way and child would engage with this journal as it's page after page of text and black and white. There is no drawings or any activity. Completely boring. I really question whether the reviews are genuine. See the video and of yourselves.
