ToroCO M/R IRRIGATION L1034 Automatic Valve Adapter, 3/4-Inch

I was initially confused upon receiving this product. All the site information states that Toro is the manufacturer, however the only name shown on the box is Lawn Genie, a brand I am unfamiliar with. I didn't let that stop me from installing it though.Our (pathetic) Orbit valves are only a few months old, and one of them needed replacing before any more of my lawn crisped up and died. This Lawn Genie valve has noticeably higher build quality than its predecessor. This was my first experience replacing an irrigation valve, but it was exceedingly painless and the instructions are thorough enough. Tested the new valve after installation and suddenly my entire yard is getting water again! I look forward to seeing how this new brand works, and will update if anything unexpected happens. I am pretty confident, however, that anyone who has wasted their hard-earned dough on Orbit valves will be pleased with this product.

After the first day, really enjoying how easy it is to use with this keyboard.

UPDATE: lasted 4 years. now it's leaking even when off. That's better than the brass ones I've bought. So I guess I will have to just replace them every so often. There might be a diaphram rebuild kit but I'll just buy another.I have gone through multiple "DIG" plastic adapters (that were actually made by champion), and it seems the Orbit stuff is junk judging from the reviews.This fit my rainbird brass 3/4" manual valve, and the skinny neck on the screw-in part has enough clearance to screw on the brass vacuum breaker cap. I ended up replacing the solenoid back with my DIG battery powered solenoid and it works again without leaking water. Hope it lasts. It did include a washer.

The valve started out working really great but after only a few months it never shut off all the way and water would constantly flow out of the sprinkler heads. Once it started leaking through it was only about a week before it went from damp to a constant flow. I can't understand why so many of these don't last yet I have others that are well over 5 years old that work perfect. Toro has always been a really good brand so I had hoped these would be better than the rest. I don't know if all of these type are made by just a couple of manufacturers and then they just get a label on them but if you use this type I'm sure you've noticed they all look very much alike. Bottom line is it's hit and miss regardless of brand.

I bought this valve adapter to replace a 3/4" all-brass zone valve that had worked for years. Unfortunately, this plastic Toro/Orbit unit started leaking after only 6 months. Very disappointed. Although the quality of all-brass type valves have dropped substantially (by design) in recent years, they would still last a good 5 years. (The all-brass ones made in early 2000 and before were virtually indestructible, lasting 10 or more years.)Anyway, ask yourself this question: do you want to pay $27 for something that last 6 months or $48 for an all-brass unit that lasts 5 years!

So far the product meets my expectation. One of the most important factors in determining the quality of a product is reliability, but at this point in time, I cannot say anything about that. I will follow with a further review when the product has been in operation for some time.

Cannot quite bring myself to say I "Love" a sprinkler valve. But, it does it's job.
