I purchased this for an employee ( I help with Ergonomics in the Office). Easy to install for a small HP monitor.Employee loves it because less clutter on her desk and she can push it back to do paperwork. She is able to move it around either up/down or sideways, depending on her level of discomfort (previous injury).CONCLUSION: Will purchase again for other employees as needed for Ergonomic positioning.

Fairly easy to install, even though the instruction manual is a set of pretty small pictures and no text. Depending on your strength and the configuration of your desk, it can be a bit awkward to screw the mounting plate to the back of your monitor. (With mine, a Dell, the monitor will stand on the desk without falling over while I screwed the mounting plate on, but for other models you might need somebody to hold it in place while you install.)After I mounted the monitor, I was disappointed that it wasn't any higher than with the stand supplied when I purchased my monitor - I'd move it up, and then the arm would move down again. After three weeks of having it installed, the arm then moved all the way down, so it wasn't raising the monitor at all.Aggravated, I came back to the product page to write a vituperative review, only to see an extra instruction as one of the images for the product, telling me to use a hex key to tighten it up. Having done that, it works wonderfully again and finally raises the monitor to the height I wanted to begin with. So, a good product, but the minimalist instruction guide lets it down a bit.

Great stand, turns at really convenient angles and can rotate the monitor itself. Someone mentioned it wasn't strong enough, but they probably didn't realize you have to tighten the pneumatic spring at the elbow of the stand arm using the Allen key provided to adjust the stand to your monitors weight - heavier monitors require tighter tension to hold up. This was really good quality and didn't even realize it allows you to hide cables within the covers along the stand.Cons:Minus one star because one of the screws preinstalled at the base of the arm was not tightened all the way by the manufacturer and wound up gouging a piece out of my wooden desk while installing. I noticed it scratched and found the loose screw head was sticking out beyond the foam pads, causing the scratch. That really upset me because it wound up damaging my desk. So make sure you check and tighten the screws at the base of the arm before installing. Once I tightened the screw at the bottom, it was fine. I also put a small cloth underneath the base before installing it again to prevent any other possible scratches.
