Monroe Quick-Strut 372663 Suspension Strut and Coil Spring Assembly for Chevrolet Cruze

This product seemed to work after installed. Installation was simple. As winter approached and temperatures dropped I began to hear a clunking noise over small bumps. I took it in to the mechanic to check my work. The rigidity of the clunking caused me to think that a bolt had loosened itself. The mechanic said everything was installed correctly and was unable to identify the noise after the car sat in the heated shop. I first thought it was the strut mounts that was causing the issue because the mounts and the plate to secure the top of the strut to the body were not designed as well as the stock mounts and plate that it replaced. So I drove with the clunking through the winter and it had gone away for the most part in summer months. As winter approached the next year I took my car in to the mechanic again as the clunking was much worse than the prior winter. They were able to identify the clunking but resolved that the issue was in the strut itself. The design of the strut is such that it loses its function in temperatures below zero. If you are looking for a viable solution that lasts beyond 1-2 years I do not recommend.
