This is more like it but sadly with no Sweet or Slade marks must be deducted
3.5 stars actually. Aside from the fact that there are 16 tracks and 3 of them are T Rex ones I really like this album. It could have been better and with Slade and Sweet included it most certainly would have been especially given that Slade had 13 hits and 6 were No 1 whilst T Rex had 11 top 20 hits of which 4 were number 1. However along with the typical inclusions this compilation has also managed to include a couple of lesser known hits of the time, but they were still hits - LL Lucy which was Mud and Sky High which was Jigsaw. I think the latter must have been a 1 hit wonder, but as soon as I heard it I remembered the track well and even the words and I would have been about 10 at that time! It was great to have them and they were also the reason that I bought it. The rest of the tracks are pretty much what you would expect with 2 x Gary Glitter, 2 x Glitter Band, 2 x Barry Blue, 2 x Hello 1x 10CC, plus also Chicory Tip, Nazareth (Glam? ok maybe I'll question that one) and the aforementioned T Rex. You can see the track listing on Amazon if you want to know exactly which hits you are getting. I have paid a lot more money for so called Glam that was nothing of the kind and at least every track on this album was a hit, that certainly is not always the case with a lot of these compilations. I do recommend this, its not expensive, its original artists and hits and I suggest buying yourself a good selection of the best of Sweet and Slade on the Glam Greats 1 and 2 as well and then mixing your own as I did.

You Can't Always Get What You Want.
As the old Rolling Stones song goes- You can't always get what you want from Glam Rock CDs.This one is short just the one CD and all the usual suspects are missing (Slade, Sweet etc)But they are over represented on many of these collections so not that bad. BUT and this is a big but you do get some hits which other colections miss. There are the two from Gary Glitter which wil be ommited on future releases. You get Barry Blue who wrote and sang some crackers along with a couple of one hit wonders.Fast forward any one.Worth a punt for the unusual suspects.
