VERY ENTERTAINING & A FUN READ
This was a very fun read from Mr. Andrews. Each chapter usually covers a specific story and there are some good ones here. Seems like Vegas was ripe for the picking in the era covered by this book. I wish the author would of gone into more details about some disputes he had. An index would of been nice too. He starts out talking about growing up in Pittsburgh then moves on from there. The chapters are short and brisk and every once in a while he throws in some obscenities. This is just a bunch of good stories from the author about the casinos, the characters & gambling from a man who lived through all the ups & downs that he experienced in Nevada. A solid effort and worth reading.

Great Read!!!
If you love gambling on sports or just stories about old Las Vegas, then this is a must read for you. It’s a very easy read, with great stories from the author, Chris Andrews past. It’s basically made up of many short stories put in a book. From his childhood, to moving to Vegas and getting his first job at the Stardust, to where he is now as the head of Sportsbook operations. It’ll make you laugh as well as give you a behind the scenes look at sports gambling.

Fun read and interesting if you like the subject
It was an amusing and enlightening book about the business of sports betting from an insiders point of view. It had some funny stories and insights regarding how fallible some of the sports betting operators were and how the business works. I enjoyed it immensely.

A great Read
This was a really great book to read. It was funny and informative. I took it along on an airplane trip and it made the dead time go bye super fast. Oh, airplane is delayed 30 minutes on the tarmac at SFO, no big deal I'll read the next chapter. My favorite story is Chapter 13 about "Psycho James" it had me laughing out loud. Well done Mr Andrews.

Great read for anyone who has wagered on a sporting event
Chris Andrews has decades of experience booking sports wagers in Reno and Las Vegas and has seen the evolution of Nevada wagering from fringe (only booked in specific joints and not hotels) to mainstream in every major hotel. His stories are entertaining informative. Great read for anyone who bets sports or great gift for anyone you know who bets sports. The Crying Kenny story is worth the price of admission.

An entertaining look behind the curtain of the sports-betting industry
An entertaining romp through the career of Nevada bookmaker Chris Andrews. If you are interested in sports, business, gambling, or Vegas you are likely to find this to be an entertaining read. Chock-full of raucous stories told with wit and charm. Gamblers will enjoy Chapter 11 (the ending of which is spectacular), the race track betting escapades and straight talk on the state of the sports-betting industry today. Also features Chris' early career in Vegas - including brushes with characters made famous in the Casino movie.Other fun stories included anecdotes of hapless bookmakers who botched the business on occasion - giving me confidence I should be always be able to find gainful employment somewhere.I would have liked a little more explanation on the "mechanics" of how sports book managed large wagers by the "wiseguys" ... a closer "inside" look on the art and science of bookmaking.
