Good hammer drill great with dust collection
I kept struggling with using a vac attachment to my corded hammer drill. This for home use in my garage shop and house so I don’t need super uber power - just wanted easy and clean. With the Makita DX01 HEPA vacuum attachment it worked great for me. I don’t know if it is considered a professional tool and seeing the other more expensive models of all brand i assumed it is not for a whole day professional hammer driller person but for house personal use - while not cheap- it is more than needed - but hey - I don’t struggle with the vacuum and that attachment to catch the dust….. this one does it all cleanly and totally cordless. it is not light - but totally manageable for an average male.

WISH I PICKED THIS UP SOONER
After years of humping around a large corded Bosch, extension cords, up ladders, to the construction site, etc...I finally picked up this Makita unit. I was reluctant given that I thought the battery supply would not be sufficient for such service, but this thing worked excellent. It is so lightweight and precise. I needed an alternative to the corded Bosch for some roof work to bury several 3/8 wedge anchors into a rooftop masonry piece and this thing worked like a dream. I love it. While I will keep the old corded unit around for when I need to bury a bank of rebar dowels at grade, this little Makita guy will be our fair-headed favorite for those lofty jobs. We are very pleased.

Goes thru concrete like butter
This drill is powerful and lightweight. I’m extremely satisfied with this purchase as it’s already paid for itself in saved time and less frustration. Highly recommended drill!

Great tool
I ordered this tool and immediately put it to work. Pretty much 3 days of drilling and chipping concrete. It work with no complaints and the only trouble I had was the bits sometimes coming off if they got a little stuck, it eventually stopped having that problem though.

Nice Tool
She make hole in concrete. My co-worker just got the Dewalt XR Rotary Combo Hammer, and I have to say my Makita XRH01 is a tad bit lighter and more ergonomic. The placement of the side-grip handle on the Dewalt is a bit too cramped for comfort. Love the Makita. I've also used comparable Milwaukee and Hilti rotary hammers. I would say the XRH01 performs on the same level, yet less expensive than both brands. Also, nobody on these jobs sites has a Makita rotary hammer, so it's easier to know which tools are mine. 4th year Residential/Commercial Electrician. I use this tool mostly to drill holes in concrete for metal and plastic anchors. It will drill a 5/8" x 1-1/2" hole in about 20 seconds.

Goes through concrete like butter
Works great, I had a little hard time keeping it straight, but that’s just operator error. I like the flexibility of no cord. Easy to transport and the five amp hour battery last a long time. The standard bits are easy to take in and out. The chisel bit works great also. The only problem I had with it was not knowing when to stop. It drills so easy, it is easy to go too deep with your anchors. It comes with a depth rod adjustment, I guess if I would’ve used it I would not have gone to deep, but I didn’t use it and went too deep.
