This is a must have if you kids in the house
I have 2 boys in elementary school I was looking for some good quran translations and stories for them. I went to couple of local places and bought a lot of books. I also ordered this to see and I am delightfully surprised. This is a very very simple translation of quran even so that I read it with the kids everyday and I enjoy it and the kids enjoy it tooI had their cousins over for the New Years and even they sat down and read it. One of them is 13 and other is turning 14. I actually gave them my copy and ordered another one for my kids.I think i am going to get a couple of more to pass it to all the kids in my family. Each section has the translation and a short background in simple English which is easy to read even for adults.I highly recommend this for kids and even for adults.

Understanding the meaning of the holy book
All the holy books are written in old languages. It is very hard to understand what the author is trying to convey. This book written in modern easy English language for all ages to understand. I checked the book everything looks great. All I can say is may you be rewarded with the permission to enter HeavenYou have taken a great task and made it easy for people who want to understand what their lord is trying to tell them. God bless

The best explanation for the holy Quran for kids
This is a must have for every Muslim family with kids that are in need of an English interpretation to the Quran. It's language is so easy to understand ( my son is in third grade and can read it on his own) . Plus in some verses it does not only interpret the meaning but also tells the story behind it . I actually ordered more of it to give it as gifts to other Muslim families .

Best translation, but not so best background info.
As far as translation, it is the best I have seen so far. However, the background/introductions can be more clear and on point. They are not the type of introduction that you would remember after a while kind of not coherent, or most important of all help you understand the context. I gifted this for my niece, but when I read a few pages I could remember much vividly from my childhood what the background of the Aya's were than what was written in segmented vague way by this translator.

Great addition to the catalogue of English translated Qur'an
Love this Qur'an translation. It is simple and clear, which is so hard to find. I also LOVE the background info provided throughout. Although it's titled "for school children," adults will appreciate and learn from this as well. The language and concepts are also for older children. My 11-year-old mostly understands, but some of it is above my 9-year-old's head.

Very great resource
As a teacher I find this book can be a great reference when trying to explain Qur'an to children in simple terms. I really like the way the author, Yahiya Emerick, took the time to explain the stories behind each surah even with all of the details. He does so very well and in a manner that is very child friendly. Alhamdulilah. As with any resource, however, it is important to take time to verify the accuracy of the author's interpretation. I wouldn't rely on this book as the only resource for teaching Qur'an to children. Other sources like Tafsir Ibn Kathir etc, can serve as reliable references as well. It's a thick heavy book and the cover looks exactly as is shown in the picture.

good to read with your kids
This is a nice translation to read with children. It has some pictures in it that sometimes capture my 5 and 7 year old's attention. The translation is too difficult for my 7 year old to fully comprehend but when we read it together I attempt to break it down even further for them to understand. They have come to enjoy spending 15-20 minutes a day with me reading the Qur'an together. My only wish is that if it could have been broken down into a number of volumes. Sometimes kids can get intimidated by picking up a book so big and heavy. Also, it would have been nice if it had more pictures and if the pictures were in color rather than black and white.

Great books for all ages
This is a highly accessible translation of the Quran designed to be read by young people, but actually insightful for all. In the past, attempts at profundity or a classical academic style made the English translation dry, difficult to read, and difficult for kids to understand. This simplifies the language, provides lots of pictures and graphics, and is far more readable. I have bought several of these as gifts. Its casual style will allow kids to get some real insight into God's message to Muslims.

Good idea but poor translation and style
Firstly I would like to say that this idea of translation and explanation of the Holy Quran in simple language for young children is very commendable. The authors intentions are commendable who is a revert to Islam from Christian background. Indeed he has written many good books on Islam for children. However on ordering for my young children after reading the positive reviews on amazon and reading at random surahs and ayah, I was disappointed with the choice of words used in the translation e.g. asr translated as history rather then time, description of sura qadr not quite what I expected and the translation of Holy Quran is punctuated by grey boxes explaining the historic context and sub headings of themes which for me interrupts the flow of beauty of The Revelation. Footnotes would have been better and introduction to each surah with the historical context work better as you traditionally find in classical tafsirs. Having illustrations throughout the text was not a good idea and for me, reminds me of Bible for Children books I see in the Library. The text of the Quran should suffice to fill the imagination of the reader. Having story books of the Prophets stories explained by authors own imaginative language illustrated with pictures is great but that approach does not suit directly with translations of the Holy Quran. I hope the author takes feedback from readers as his efforts are commendable. Thank you to Amazon for accepting my return and refund.

Highly recommended
Excellent and really easy read for children. It's not a like an adult or literal translation but is translated into easy sentences with easy meaning. It's a very thick book hence the price.I am going to bind this book as I can see it opening up and pages coming out if used alot. Highly recommend for any household with children. This is in particular for children 11+. As an RE teacher, it's good resource to have.

Great for young and old...
This is written for children but I bought it for myself (woman in her forties). It is plain and simple English with some good facts thrown in. I read it alongside my Arabic Quran so I understand what I am reading. It is not 100% exact meaning but it is much easier to understand than the usual English translations.

Very easy to read and understand.
Amazing translation with brief explanations of each surah in modern English. Although it states for children it is equally beneficial for adults Because of the ease with which you can read and understand it. Amazing purchase and one you will not regret. Also very much recommended for those who are not Muslim but wish to understand Islam’s holy book and its message. Very much recommended to all.
