Rothco Concealed Carry Soft Shell Jacket

It's a great jacket for carrying your wallet & keys right in ...
PROS:1. This jacket has pockets EVERYWHERE. Inside (for concealing firearms & magazines) and outside on the sleeves, on the chest & in the back. It's a great jacket for carrying your wallet & keys right in the sleeves. It also has zippers which open the area under the arms for ventilation.2. The jacket is very warm.CONS:1. The zipper pockets on the chest open up to the entire length of the jacket. So. for instance, if you put a wallet in either of these pockets, it will drop down to the bottom of the jacket, making it a real nuisance to fish out easily.2. The CONCEAL pockets inside the left & right sides of the jacket don't do what I bought the jacket for: CONCEALING my firearm. I was wearing the jacket with a BERSA 380 Thunder PLUS in the inside conceal pocket & when I exited my car the pistol grip slid out of the pocket & was there for the entire world to see. Fortunately no one was watching. I got back in the car & tucked the pistol into my waistband. This is why I gave the jacket 3 stars. When I purchase a jacket for concealing a weapon I don't expect the weapon to practically fall out of the jacket. This issue can be fixed by inserting a snap halfway between the top opening and the bottom of the pocket, or possibly sewing or gluing in a Velcro patch halfway between the top opening & bottom of the pocket. I hope the images will clarify this review.

Pretty good. With my help, it could be the best.
This jacket is nice! I bought the small and It's bigger than it seems it should be. Love all the pockets and compartments. It's a little larger than I expected. I'd like a version that was a little more fitted, and less poofy in the middle. I feel like if it were fitted, it would hold the "equipment" a little better. The concealed pockets are nice. It has a Velcro piece that opens up the side of the pocket, which is a pretty decent feature when needing to access your weapon in a hurry, but could possibly compromise retention of not careful. I'd like to see some sort of backstrap or holster insert to help retain. I'd also feel more comfortable if there where a trigger guard. I guess that type of thing can be purchased separately. Even with a G19, its a little too roomy. XDS9 turns sideways a bit. The magazine pouches are a little bulky and could be slimmed down or made of thinner material.I really like the vented arms. The jacket is warm and well made. Velcro arm patches are a nice touch. I've received quite a few compliments from dudes who know cool and tactical. It'd be a 5 star if it were fitted better, and if retention was slightly better.

Good "3" season jacket
I bought this jacket as an every day carry outer garment. It is a great jacket for carrying a pistol and up to 4 magazines. The water resistant outer shell beads off water like rain-x. The fit is somewhat flexable. Adjustable wristlets and two deep high chest pockets, which are the only pockets on the front of the coat. I'm not sure what you would put in these pockets, but I usually put my gloves, tossel cap and maybe a small umbrella if needed. I would not put small items in the zippered outer pocket due to how deep the pockets are.. The jacket does have zippers under the armpits and also a nice size rear low back pocket for other storage needs. There are also 4 arm pockets 2 on each arm for other storage. I use these pockets for my wallet, Ipod, keys, ect small items. It also has a hood which is oversized and very light and only provided cover from rain and wind. it doesn't have much warmth value. The issues I have are there are no pockets for your hands like most jacket have. Also the wind seems to go right through the jacket. I have worn this coat in weather from 70 degrees down to 20 degrees. I have found that once you get to 40 degrees outside this jacket doesn't provide the warmth that I expect from a 3 season coat. I often have a t-shirt and a sweat shirt on under this coat and it doesn't help.

Excellent quality product
The jacket is exactly what I was hoping it would be. There are plenty of pockets for the storage of items you need for personal safety. I like having the velcro patch on the jacket where you can place a Logo or other patch that you need or want for identifying yourself. The four mag holders on the inside of the jacket are perfect to make sure you have plenty of back up items in case of a problem.I liked the choices for the color of the jacket. The jacket fits well and with pockets filled you don't see any tell tale sign of what you have in the pockets. The jacket also is great to keep you warm as needed. The velcro straps at the end of the sleeves are good for being able to adjust the sleeve tightness so that the sleeve doesn't run down over your hand.I also liked the vent zippers under the arm pits, if you need a bit of air circulation you can open those and get the air flow you desire while still keeping rain out.All in all I was very pleased with the product.

Great value!
Great jacket for concealed carry and general use as a fall, or spring jacket. The only thing I can knock it for is the main inside breakaway carry pocket doesn't have enough velcro to secure a heavier pistol, or a full-sized one without coming undone in even the slightest vigorous movement, and I'd be worried the gun might fall completely out of my jacket in public at some point, otherwise I'd give it a full five star rating; however I plan to fix this problem by sewing a longer piece of velcro along the edge of the pocket. That should do the trick.

Not designed by someone who carries concealed.
Well made with a shower proof outer shell and thin fleece inner lining, which isn't detachable. This makes warm weather wear a no, no.Four horizontal pistol mag pouches inside, with velcro flap to hold mags in place. Non-tactical.Large inner breast pockets which are bottomless, so whatever you put in them is almost impossible to find easily. No outside pockets.Despite the title, this isn't a tactical jacket.Nowhere for weapons. No fast access to anything. But if you want a decent, warm jacket you could do worse.
