What a Wi-Fi digital photo frame should be
This is my review of the PhotoSpring 10 Inch 16GB Wi-Fi Digital Photo Frame. The display screen is bright, and it is easy to view in various lighting conditions, even in bright daylight. The pixel resolution is 1280x800. Images are displayed accurately in terms of coloring, viewing angles were not problematic, and the overall image is beautiful. Videos played back smoothly on the frame. The PhotoSpring touch screen is responsive. It is easy to customize playlists and select photos. You can also use automated playlists to save time and effort. A virtual keyboard pops up when appropriate. You can use gestures to delete, hide, or favorite your photos quickly with the touch screen. The device runs off its internal lithium ion battery and it also plugs into a power cord that ends in a two-prong charger. It comes with a white plastic cradle that accommodates either Landscape or Portrait orientation. The frame feels solidly built and its one button that I use most often (the power button) seems like it is built to last. The frame comes in white only (a bright white hue similar to what Samsung and Apple use), and as far as I could tell, there are no other colors at the time of this review.Selection, display and organization of photos with the PhotoSpring is effective. It strikes a nice balance between automation (via a bunch of algorithms) and personal customization---you can have it both ways. The gathering of videos and photos for the frame is achieved through the cloud. I liked how it easily gathered photos. Photos can be transferred to the frame from anyone with a smartphone, tablet or PC. A second PhotoSpring frame is not needed to send images and video to another PhotoSpring. The gathering process is effective and takes little effort. This to me is what separates the PhotoSpring from previous frames, memory sticks are no longer needed because new incoming images are sent in the cloud. The PhotoSpring’s cloud storage provides another layer of redundancy for backing up your photos and videos. The 16 GB provided on my frame can store thousands of photos; I believe there is a 32 GB version available as well for those with large video files or massive photo collections. Sharing a photo is easy using the PhotoSpring app. I select images from my smartphone and click send. Owners of the frame grant permission (this only has to happen once) to receive images. Once this authorization is complete, I can send images to my friend’s PhotoSpring in seconds (or a few minutes if the upload is large). You don’t have to settle for sending photos one at a time, you can select multiple photos and just click the Send button once. There is a live, real-time message that keeps you updated on how many images have uploaded until it is complete. Easy. If you can text a photo to someone on your phone, you can upload a photo to PhotoSpring. The displaying of videos or photos uses a playlist approach similar to an Android or Apple device.Setup of the PhotoSpring was fairly quick (you power it on, connect it to Wi-Fi, create an online account). If you were to gift the PhotoSpring to a family member who is not tech savvy, be sure during setup that they know the name of their Wi-Fi network and their network’s Wi-Fi password in order to set up the frame. This is well-engineered hardware that has cloud-based component, so I was curious what would happen if my broadband connection was taken down, especially with extreme weather. I turned off my router for a few minutes to test this. The PhotoSpring device happily kept showing all the videos and photos loaded onto it. It resumed downloading new images once I restored the broadband connection. One thing I like about the PhotoSpring 10 Inch 16GB Wi-Fi Digital Photo Frame is that its makers seem be embracing a continuous deployment approach. In other words, the company is adding meaningful services and features (the touchscreen menu reports that a Set Sleep Timer function is coming soon) without requiring you to pay for them. Using the PhotoSpring app is free for me with no hidden charges. In the short time since I bought my PhotoSpring, the company added the ability to play videos. This adds value. I tested this out only briefly; the videos looked sharp and the sound from the built-in 2 watt mono speaker was adequate. There is a volume control and brightness control on the touchscreen menu, so a few swipes let you control this. This a great digital photo frame that intelligently uses the cloud to gather your photos and videos.

Worth having if you enjoy reliving life events
Easy to use and transfer pictures via wi-fi. Two issues with it otherwise I would rate it a 5 star. Issue #1 - Needs a random setting for pictures. Right now however you download them is how they appear.over and over. I have been told that the company is working on this. Issue #2 - The on-off schedule at least on mine doesn't work. I have set it for a particular time to come on and go off. It stays on 24 hours a day. I have made the company aware of this and they say they are trying to work this bug out. Other then that it is a great product and fun to use and relive life events. Sometimes it is more fun then watching TV.Update - Initially I rated this as 4 star with the above issues. These issues have been fixed with some new additions. As a result I have now made it a 5 star item. It works great. Fun to watch your life in pictures. Customer support is very responsive and excellent. This is a great product.

Perfect digital photo frame
This is my 2nd Photospring device and it's perfect. The thing that separates this device from others is it lets you share your photos with family and friends. So my grandparents can just put this somewhere and photos of all their kids and grandchildren will stream for them. I can control what pictures others see. For example, my friends will see different pictures than my grandparents will. Friends will see me on a night out at a bar but my grandparents only see pictures of my kids and other wholesome things.Construction is sturdy. It's easy to use and, most important of all, I can just set it up for my parents and they don't have to do anything but remember to either keep it plugged in or charge it when it runs out of battery. They love it and I don't have to constantly email them photos of the kids, etc. Great digital photo frame!

GREAT PRODUCT
I purchased this frame from Amazon and was pleasantly surprised on how soon I received it (3 days). I opened the box to find a very pleasing white frame with a ten inch screen. It comes with a stand for portrait or landscape viewing and a power cord. It will also run on battery power but I only use the power cord so I don't know battery life. The only instructions are a three step initial power up card. Due to my age (85) I am hesitant about initial startup as it seems I always screw something up during the fairly complicated (for me) setup done online after the initial startup so I went to the PhotoSpring support website with some questions. In less than one hour I received a reply and over the next day or so, all my questions were answered. In fact I received a phone call from Photo Spring tech support to make sure I was up and running and if I had any further questions. My wife and I love the frame and the extensive menu for picture viewing it provides (and she's not easy to please). I was informed by tech support that upgrading to more functions is constant and ongoing. I offered a few suggestions like having the option of a small calendar on screen like some other photo frames. This frame is on the upper price range but well worth it! And I can't say enough about the tech support I received.
