Everything needed to learn to read, write, speak, and understand the most essential words in the Korean language is in this handy set of flash cards—including many hundreds of phrases and sentences using them. The cards in this volume are a great way to learn Korean and contain the most common words and expressions used in daily Korean communication—concrete nouns as well as verbs and adjectives that form the core Korean vocabulary. These are grouped thematically to enable easy memorization and retention. A sample sentence is given to illustrate the use of the primary word on each card which is often a well-known Korean saying or an idiom. Review: Not just for K-poppers 😁😎😊 CD has MP3 files that work fine 🎺🎻🎹🎷📯 - Yes, you probably need to know Hangeul. CD (not a DVD or Blu-ray) contains MP3 files, 1 MP3 audio file for each flash card. ] The disc will not play on a DVD player for obvious reasons. When people ask me what I did during the COVID shutdown, I say, "learned to read and write Hangeul". I purchased a $5.00 beginner's book, like the kind we use in the elementary school, and worked every single page. A simple primer of writing elements used in Korean over and over and over gave me a nice working knowledge. The second step was flashcards. Used daily during lunch while walking my pups. Now that I've mastered the very basics I'm ready for some new flashcards. Reading some of the reviews a few people were critical of the flashcards because they are based on knowing Hangeul. I agree, without a substantial knowledge of not only the letters and a syllabic block you will be lost. The first time I watched a K-drama and I actually read a word was amazing. Within the first few cards was an English word in Hanguel, but these are an excellent way to learn and practice vocabulary. My only critique is they might be better if the cards focused on one word. All things considered the cards are amazing. Looking forward to whole books and maybe one day speaking in Korean. Review: Great Product - If you are learning Korean language, these flash cards are GREAT!!! They will help in memorizing the words you are learning from self-taught to learning from a school institution, or internet program. This is a must have!!!

More Intermediate Than A Beginner Resource
I'm learning Korean on my own (for the present) and there is undoubtedly a lot of material available. So, based on some reviews for this kit, I thought it could provide vocabulary and be a place to start. It comes with nicely laminated cards, a large metal ring, a introductory booklet, and ample material to cram in your head. BUT, in my opinion it's more of intermediate level, and NOT beginning if your goal includes learning to read Hangul/Hangeul (Korean alphabet). In this respect, these flashcards at this stage could be overwhelming and impractical. OTOH, if you just want to dive in and develop a vocabulary and learn phrases, this kit could be quite useful and just another approach for learning Korean. Regarding the CD (MP3), it's also helpful but can only be used on your computer CD player or in players that are MP3 compatible. (You might consider burning a CD copy from the MP3 files.) Overall, a good investment for the cost. Thumbs up.

great for building your basic vocabulary
These little cards are really neat; great for building your basic vocabulary. I love that the related words are on the cards too! They're made of high-quality materials and while you don't want to be too rough with them, I think they're nice to carry around with you to look over in your spare time. However, I'm not sure if the sentences are very helpful, especially if your knowledge of grammar is lacking. Some of them just steem a little awkward. The main change I would make to these flashcards is...I hate where the hole is punched! I know that's such a nitpicky thing but I wish the key ring went through the top left or something, not the bottom right. I feel like it messes with my whole flow! :P Otherwise I'm quite satisfied with this purchase.

Excellent in all facets
I liked the concept of a main word with 4 thematically related words on the same card. You get five times as you would expect from the number of cards. The secondary words are small type, but I think the approach strengthens learning. The cards themselves are durable, easy to shuffle, and have no sharp corners. Altogether a nice set.

Good
Good. My CD does appear to work since others have been saying it doesn’t work for them. Guess I was Just one of the lucky ones. If you don’t care about the CD and just about the flash cards (I didn’t really care if the CD worked or not) then you are in luck. The flash cards are really nice and informational

Love these flashcards
Love these flashcards. I had already begun learning the Korean language once I received these cards and they have been a great help. Especially the corresponding audio so I know the proper sound, and pronunciation. I love that there are sentences that show proper usage of the words presented and feel this has been such a helpful way to learn the language. Would definitely suggest learning the alphabet front ways and back ways and feel once you get a true grip on the alphabet and proper pronunciation of the alphabet first you will find these cards even more helpful.

Missing some cards, duplicates of others
The quality is pretty decent, but quality control isn't. I took a chance on these despite multiple reviewers stating that some cards were missing from their boxes. It turns out I have 10 cards missing as well as 10 duplicates. Not only that, the hole placement differs on the 10 duplicates — which wouldn't be a big deal except that I actually prefer the hole placement on the duplicates. The 190 cards in my deck have the holes in the bottom right-hand corner, which might make sense for some but is awkward to me. Instead of flipping the cards like turning pages in a book, it's the opposite, like leafing through a book beginning with the last page. Long story short, I don't know if I'll ship these back for a replacement or just keep them. After all, there's no guarantee the next set will be complete or have the holes in the preferred spot.

Great!
There are actually 5 words on every flashcard, and each card has a main word with sub-words that are related to the topic which makes it easier to learn)) Came in great condition as well!

Nice cards
Very nice to learn with. Exactly what I wanted to get. Just the cards are a little thin so the could bend easy but it didn't already happened with me.

No CD in the box, only download
Although I ordered a box with a CD, I got a version with online audio only (to be downloaded). I have kept it, with a small refund, because I wanted to have the cards before going on a trip. The cards are fine, and the accompanying booklet is very handy.

Worth the price!
These cards are great and totally worth it. Not only do they teach you associated words too, they even have common phrases using the key words on the cards. I would definitely recommend this to any enthusiastic learner.
