Sweet Little Pen Tablet
The Ace Pen AP604 is a great pen tablet for beginners, or experienced artists who work in small spaces. It's about the size of my hand (6x4 in work area.) and slips easily in a bag or backpack to take on the road. With a 266 RPS and a comfortable stylus with 8192 levels of pressure, it rivals more expensive tables. Also did I mention the express keys? Control your workflow by setting shortcuts for your most commonly used commands. Overall the AP604 is a sturdily-built tablet that gets the job done. At $29.99 USD it's a bargain. The only decision you have make now is...do you want red or silver? The AP604 is a viable competitor in the pen tablet space and should be considered for it's overall value, ease of use and the high-quality of it's packaging and product reliability. All-in-all a great purchase.

NOT a tablet, but a beautiful device
They are calling this a tablet. I would argue that this is misleading as this product has no real tablet functionality. It would be more accurately classed as a mousepad. Here is the thing though. Other electronic mousepads with stylus option I have used still show the pointer on the screen as if you were using a traditional mouse. This one does not which makes it frustrating to really do any kind of computer work requiring accuracy since you don't know where your mouse is going to be until you start trying to do manipulations. This, in particular, makes drawing a very challenging activity which is unfortunate since that is what this device is advertised as being great for. I do think the styling is beautiful and visually not much could make this better, but functionally there is room for improvement. On the positive side though, it is super easy to get started with since all you need to do is plug in to the computer and you can instantly start using the pen as a mouse. The pen does come with replacement tips, but at least in my experience with other computer pens, they can be used and abused for years and never need a replacement, so keeping track of those itty bitty pieces is something I gave up on long ago.

Doesn't Work Well With Photoshop
When I got this pen and tablet I was really excited. The price seemed great and the reviews were pretty decent. I, however, did not have the same experience most of the people who have this tablet did.As a photographer I'm very used to pen and tablet set-ups. I did as the company's website suggested, deleted my driver and everything for my Wacom Intuos and got this set up. Setup went quickly and I got even more excited. I started up Photoshop and everything seemed to work great!Until, that is, I had to do anything with brushes. It was like the tablet didn't understand what the brush tool was. With the paintbrush tool on, and black as the color, it would only give a light gray color on anything I drew on. I tried everything, including uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, adjusting the gauges, etc.I then contacted customer support. Which is in China. Which means I was able to exchange one message with them a day because of their time schedule. I was in touch with them for about a week, so about seven messages, and nothing they suggested helped. Eventually, they stopped answering me.I cannot recommend this tablet. Not only does it not work well with Photoshop, I gave customer service a chance to help and fix the situation and they dropped me like a hot potato.

Does Some Things Very Well, One Frustrating Problem
It is important to have graphics tablets in our house. We have several people in the house who work with graphics so this is a helpful item to have a few of. Let's take a look at this pad.WHAT IS THIS LIKE?This tablet is a nice red color. It comes with a red cord that plugs into the computer USB port. It has a propretary end on it that goes into the tablet, so you don't want to lose it. It has a pen with multiple nibs that it comes with. There is not a stand with the pen. There is an adequate very simple instruction manual included. There are four press button spots on the top of the tablet. One is zoom in and zoom out, and the others are programmable.PEN PRESSUREThis has a pressure sensitivity to it, so if you are using a painting program that is set up for pressure, it will work with this pen. It says 8000 levels, which is plenty for most projects.BATTERIES?There are not any batteries in this pen. It works off of the power in the tablet.WEIGHT AND FEELThe weight of it is nice- not too lightweight- feels hefty but not too much.SIZEThis is excellent for travel. The cost is not too much so if it gets lost or broken, you can easily replace it.THE PROBLEMThere is one problem with this tablet. The usable area is such that it is marked out on the tablet. That is the only area that the pen will work. Near the upper right hand half of the top edge, however, when you want to use the pen to move or navigate, it goes spastic. Windows shrink, or things go nuts. It is really frustrating.WHAT PROGRAM DID WE USE IT FOR?This was used primarily for Krita- a free graphics program.THE BOTTOM LINEThis is an excellent tablet to take with you in your computer tote. It works well with graphics programs, and is easy to handle and carry. If it were not for the one VERY frustrating glitch, it would be almost perfect.MY RATINGFour stars. The glitch is such that it makes it hard to use this. If it did not give such problems, this would easily be five stars.
