My thoughts....
I have been fighting plantar fasciitis on both feet for 3 years and had decided to have surgery but was afraid of doing more harm than good. I decided to give "the boot" another try, but the one I bought from the podiatrist was a freakin monster and very uncomfortable. I went searching and found the Dorsal PF and bought two. I have kept them on all night and as much during the day as possible in hopes of healing the fascia once and for all. I have been it in a full week today and I have not had any pain in my feet, but I have also purposefully been staying off them as much as possible to hasten healing. The only complaint I have is that for some reason it rubs the side of my feet on the bones beside my small toes where a bunion would be (which I don't have), which wakes me up at night with burning pain. I am now using moleskin to cover those spots which helps.I would recommend this boot to anyone who is having trouble healing the fascia. I have no trouble sleeping in them except for the two spots rubbing, but otherwise they are pretty comfortable in my opinion. They can also be loosened a little without compromising their purpose. Prior to using these, just standing up during the day from a seated position was painful, and now not at all. I am not sure what to expect when I get up and start really walking on my feet for any length of time, but hopefully it will be pain free. Good luck everyone. This having aching feet is no darn fun!

PF night splint is a good buy, but ...
I have PF in both feet, have tried various products that haven't done the job. The Freedom Dorsal PF Night Splint has been very helpful and makes it easier to walk around when wearing them. Now for the but...they are very uncomfortable in bare feet, so wear socks. I have bunionettes on both feet and the inner elastic strap puts a great deal of pressure on them causing pain so I can only use the two velcro straps to hold them on. If you have bunions or bunionettes beware of this pressure. Next if you have limited strength in your hands, as I do, it is very hard to undo the velcro straps around your upper ankle. I would recommend the Freedom Dorsal PF Night Splint to anyone with PF as I can see an improvement in my feet already.

Do Not Purchase without Physician Approval
This item IS NOT RETURNABLE. $55.00 + 19.99 shipping lost. There is NO OBVIOUS NOTICE in the details for this product as to its LACK OF ELIGIBILITY for return. I believe that is deceptive to potential buyers. Even with a physician's approval this device may not be your answer but at least you are aware of potential loss of moneyAdded--- After contacting Alimed directly, it was noted that if I had purchased splint through Alimed and NOT Amazon, there may have some recourse in this $75 loss

Finally some relief
Diagnosed with PF last year. Had tried all the remedies from rolling on a tennis or golf ball to rolling on a frozen water bottle but the pain continued. Finally after getting a cortisone injection in the heel if my foot (ouch) the podiatrist told me to try a night splint. I knew I didn't want to try and wear the bulky boot type so I went online and found this night splint. After wearing it the first night I woke up in the middle of the night with pain on the ball of my foot. A quick adjustment of the Velcro ( it was to tight) I was able to back to sleep and when I put my foot down in the morning I didnt have that usual first morning pain. The only problem I have is that during the night the Velcro strap up by the toes tends to slide down and I have to adjust it. I still give it 4 stars though. I now don't have to wear it every night. Pain not completely gone but much more tolerable

Works great
My husband had been having foot problems, and a trip to his doctor told us he had plantar facitis. The doctor wanted him to buy this exact night splint at some very expensive health care store, but I knew buying it on Amazon would be much cheaper for the same quality product. Sure enough I was right. It took my husband awhile to get use to having this on his foot at night, but now he says it's working great and he feels his foot problems ar getting much better. If you need this type of foot splint and don't want to pay the expensive price at health stores, try this one here at Amazon.

More Effective Than Physical Therapy for Plantar Fasciitis!
After five full rounds of physical therapy for my pain from Plantar Fasciitus and not getting relief from the pain, I challenged my physical therapist that there had to be something else to try. He brought out one of these night splints and now five years later I have had excellent relief from the pain! Yes, the first night of sleeping with this is awkward and uncomfortable, but hang in there - it's worth it!

Save your money.
I do not know where the rave reviews come from. Please don't waste your money on any of these products. Just do the exercises and get relief that way. Honestly. I struggled painfully for 6 months, but finally I healed. This particular product did not help at all.In order to get the kind of flexion I needed for my foot, I had to tighten the velcro straps so much that it cut off circulation, and I had to discard it in the middle of the night. In order to not cut off circulation, I didn't get a good flex in my foot. Finally, I read on a website that NONE of these products actually help. That cleared my mind and I just started doing what I needed to clear up the problem. It took from Marck to sometime in September or October to clear, but finally, I am pain free and haven't even had a twinge for at least one month.

FREEDOM Dosral PF NIght Splint
Wearing this splint at night has done a great job preventing the terrible plantar fasciitis pain with my first few steps in the morning. It is such a relief not to have that pain anymore. The podiatrist had me wear a Cam boot during the day for a while, but you also need to wear something at night to keep your foot in the correct position to prevent that terrible morning pain and this splint does the job well! I love the velcro straps, makes it easy to adjust. I like that it is open in the back so my foot doesn't get hot.
