Behringer Graphic Equalizer Eq700 (Guitar / Keyboard) Ultimate 7-Band Graphic Equalizer

This is possibly the most impactful $25 to $30 you could spend on a single pedal to shape your guitar tone. I owned the BOSS GE-7 for many years - I bought thinking I could fix a crummy amp just by moving some sliders around. I was wrong, obviously, and as my gear improved later in life, I sold the GE-7 and forgot about EQ pedals, for the most part. Recently, however, I was looking at trying one of the more premium options, like the MXR 6-band or 10-band or BOSS EQ-200, but couldn't justify the price. So, I figured I would just try out the Behringer for $25 to see if it was something I could use. I'm actually surprised how good this is for such a cheap pedal. I was expecting it to introduce a bunch of white noise (something the GE-7 was known for), but it really has not been an issue. Placing this after a Tonex ONE (or a drive pedal) allows you to dramatically transform the sound of that pedal. Placing it before an amp or a drive allows you to use it almost like clean boost, and I love that it has a master level control. If I'm being critical, we know about the build quality of these pedals. It's similar to a BOSS, but an all-plastic construction that I could definitely see failing down the road. Also, the frequency sliders work, but are a little wobbly and also do not have the "notch" position in the middle, so you do not know when they are exactly at zero. BUT, those are minor quibbles with a pedal that costs a little bit more from a full meal from Panera Bread. If you're unsure if EQ is something you could use, this Behringer pedal is a great, low-risk place to start.

Great addition to my rig. It is a little noisy in high gain or boosted signal chains but that's what noise gates are for anyway.

OK so the Behringer EQ700 I was afraid due to the low price that it would be junk, however pleasently suprised, the eq works good, the sound is great, the boost is nice great way to sculpt your sound. others are at more than double the price often triple. So the down side, I don't like the power plug on the side design, it stops you from using plug to plug jack and keeoing the pedals close together on your pedal board. Also the material the pedal is made of a bit softer plastic, I do like metal pedals heavier but durable. For the price this pedal is awesome, I think the power placement should be fixed by behringer, the plastic maybe look for stronger plastic or switch back to metal casing. But I'll be keeing this pedal on my board.

As a basement rock Dad budget is always a concern. I’m not running a crazy rig, basically a epiphone LP through a katana. My guitar tone has always been a little muddy, especially playing along with my favorite recordings. I considered a new guitar, effects even trying new pickups. Before spending any big cash I heard about trying an EQ pedal and it seemed like just the ticket. Even better this little guy was only about 20 bucks. What a difference this thing made! It was a little noisier than I expected, but read other reviews where someone recommended using it to cut frequencies instead of boosting. I totally agree. There is still a little noise, but my “mudbucker” pickups cut through my favorite tracks with ease. The higher frequency response makes my guitar feel much more responsive. I find myself not even needing the extra boosts I was trying to use. The extra hiss is there, but it dissipates as you start to play, just like a single coil guitar. I can even shape the tone to mimic other styles of guitar. If your having a tone crisis and don’t feel like your getting anywhere give this thing a shot, you won’t be sorry!

I decided to try EQ in my effects loop to improve tonality in my Peavey VK112. I bought this as it's very cost effective thinking if I liked it, I'd spring for a more expensive one. Well, no need for that extra spend. This pedal works great. The 5 bands of EQ are perfectly spaced for tuning my tone to the venues we play. It's also quiet. Some venues can be quite bright and harsh. Other times we may be playing outside in an infinite baffle. These very different requirements are no issue with this pedal. The volume control is an added bonus in that you can juice it for driving your final stage a bit should you want to. I use it in the effects loop along with an EarthQuaker Reverb/Delay pedal. It is plastic but it's on my pedal board so no worries for me about plastic casing. It does seem sturdy though. Unless you're really hard on your gear like throwing the pedals into a travel case after gigs it should be fine. I hope this helps your decision.

It's a boss clone for $30ish? Hell yeah! It like a quarter of the price and sounds identical because the guts are identical just in a cheaper less army tank grade housing than a boss but also a quarter of the price.

I got this in the mail today and plugged it into my pedal board just prior to the amp. Like the other reviewers on here, I'm sad to report that it's quite 'hissy'. I had hoped that it would not be a hissing type of pedal but it is. I'm using a Line 6 Uber Metal, Boss Metal Zone, Ibanez LA Metal & Boss Compressor/Sustainer with my SKB pedal board. The board itself is not noisy at all with any of the other pedal cranked up BUT when I put the EQ700 in with the others, there's a noticeable hiss though not so much at low volume but when you crank the amp (I'm using a Peavey Special 212 Transtube combo) above 4, you can definitely hear the hiss. Not sure if a noise gate pedal would reduce this but I'm going to give the Danaelectro Fish & Chips (as recommended by another reviewer) a try. I'm waiting on the Behringer Orchestra Chorus pedal to arrive and HOPING it isn't hissy like the EQ700 is. I will say though I do like the tone influence this pedal has. It does a nice job of altering the tone & gives my rig a greater flexibility for sounds. Overall I give this pedal a 3 out of 5 stars.

I've used every pedal and pedalboard conceivable. Okay, not every one, but a lot! A graphic EQ pedal has always been a great "secret weapon" to prime the input of an amp or another pedal. I know some people use them for things like "solo boosts," but for me, it's about tone. Behringer isn't a huge name, but they DO make some pretty awesome products; don't let the price tag fool ya! I've been using this as a preset EQ curve-booster to the front end of my recording setup, and it works nicely! Very little audible noise, and the battery life reminds me of the old DOD pedals of the 80s and 90s.. very long lasting. The bands have a very wide "Q" so even small tweaks to adjacent bands will be instantly noticeable. Lately, I've also used it to push a small combo amp into high-gain mode.. works like a charm! With a few tweaks of this EQ pedal, I can move from Steve Ray blues tones to 80s Marshall "hair" sound to uber-metal. A very, very good buy!

Best budget EQ pedal by Behringer and a very good clone of the boss original. Very good clone, if you are on tight budget and looking for a gateway into pedals. What more could you ask for in an entry level pedal by a very good and trusted brand.

Als je hem aan het begin van je signaallijn hebt met een schoon geluid hoor je gelijk dat hij gewoon stil is. Als je hem aan het begin hebt staan met een piepklein beetje scheur krijg je gelijk heel veel ruis. Één van mijn twee versterkers heeft altijd een beetje scheur en dit is een probleem. Ik dacht hierdoor dat dit pedaaltje heel veel ruis produceerde. Hij hoort in de effecten lus of enkel bij een schoon geluid. Ik had hem compleet verkeerd beoordeeld. Dit is echt een top-pedaal. Je moet hem alleen wel op de juiste plek plaatsen. Sorrie voor de eerdere incorrecte review.

È il mio primo pedale eq e confermo che avere un pedale del genere in catena (io l' ho messo nel send-return) fa davvero la differenza, il suono diventa più corposo e aperto. La qualità è buona, il case è in plastica ma resistente è leggero e fa il suo dovere. Assolutamente consigliato per il rapporto qualità prezzo.

J'avais commandé récemment un petit pré-ampli pour écouter au casque mes répétitions de violon électrique. Il remplissait parfaitement son office aussi bien au casque qu'avec une petite enceinte amplifiée. Le volume du pré-ampli était cependant sollicité au maximum et le spectre sonore correct manquait un peu d'épaisseur et de profondeur. J'ai donc commandé cet égaliseur pour tenter de modeler un minimum de rendu sonore, et je n'ai pas été déçu, car le gain de base de ce produit m'a permis de réduire le volume du pré-ampli. Bien entendu l'égaliseur assure très bien son job et permet de modifier véritablement les "couleurs" acoustiques de l'instrument, sans grésillement ni ronflement. Le plastique utilisé pour le châssis de cet égaliseur semble assez épais et de bonne qualité, mais incite cependant à conserver le pied léger pour activer la pédale. La consommation électrique du produit est très modeste car la batterie 9 volts que j'y ai placée tient la charge depuis une bonne semaine. La notice livrée avec l'appareil n'est pas en français, mais on peut en télécharger une depuis le site de la marque. Le rapport qualité-prix est surprenant. Je suis très satisfait de ce produit.
