Knife+Heart [DVD]

This is a brilliant LGBTQ Slasher film with heavy Giallo influences .It takes place in 1979 just a couple of years before the Aids epidemic started. If you watch the killer, really look at his weapon of choice and and take in the fact he's stalking and killing gay men who are sexually promiscuous and in the porn industry you will get the big picture!There are a couple of very brutal stabbings but it's not overly gory. The kills remind me of the kills in the 1980 film Cruising.The acting is great and the cinematography is amazing! The way it's filmed is a thing of beauty. It really looks like it was filmed in 1979. There's so much to love in (Knife + Heart)

Brilliant, bizarre and creative. Loved every minute. Vanessa paradis is amazing in this. It's very retro and campy. I highly recommend it. The soundtrack is flawless. This is like a foreign version of scream mixed with gay porn and French passionate culture. My fave of the year

This is a movie about an insane serial killer who uses a knife and attacks actors working for a (mostly) gay porn company.On the plus side, it certainly shows that serial killer films can be done in any milieu. It is also well done and makes a certain amount of sense at the end.On the other side, it focuses rather more on the people and their relationships rather than the murders. This makes it a bit ... detached ... from what, presumably, it is about.Still, parts of it are quite entertaining. The version of the investigation of the murders that they turn into a porno film is quite hilarious. At least, if you find it to be over-the-top, it is. YMMV.

They did it again with their own brand of queer horror. Loved it!

I know nothing about gay porn but I assume that what's depicted here has about as much to do with the realities of it as Blood And Black Lace has to do with any real fashion industry. Instead it's a dream-like interpretation, replete with magnificent visuals and saturated colors.Truthfully, I'm not sure I understood all of it... but it made about as much sense to me as most giallos, and that's fine... and part of the fun. It did occur to me that it takes place just before the AIDS epidemic... but I'm not all that sure how the connection connects... but it can't be a coincidence.Overall it's pretty tame in terms of both gore and sex, which sort of surprised me for a French film. But I don't think it would have improved with more of either.Definitely worth watching unless you just can't stand seeing men rub on each other.

I kind of decided to buy this due to the poster I thought I’d be receiving. It did not come inside.

THIS MOVIE WAS WAY BETTER THAN I THOUGHT IT BE , Its a real trow back to 70,s horror Vanessa Paradise is brill in this love visual style in the movie , GREAT HORROR FUN :)
