Optional Catch

This was perfect we have beveled moulding and now the monkey hook catches perfectly the only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because it did not come with the screws. I had to find some old screws around the house to attach it to the wall. They are very tiny screws (width wise) so I highly doubt most people would have some of those at home. Other than that it did its job and now the door can remain open without my babies' fingers getting pinched!

This accessory is needed if you have a beveled door frame. I ordered 3, as I have 2 door monkeys now and might get a 3rd if they work well. Since they charge shipping on this, I figured I’d get one extra just in case.I went to install the first one of these and the screw snapped in half. I’ve used countless times on countless projects and I don’t recall a screw actually snapping in half. Getting stripped? Sure, that happens. It happened on the second screw.So needless to say, I contacted the company and told them that this happened and although I ha e replacement screws and the price on this product is minimal, it shouldn’t break like this, and I was disappointed with the craftsmanship. They wrote back telling me that it was likely user error and that starter holes should have been drilled for the item. They did refund me my ~$1.57 cents though.This thing comes in a clear bag as small as a business card with two tiny screws. Nothing is stated about starter holes, and why would it? The screw is an inch and a half long. We are not talking heavy hardware folks. The company has some learning to do imo about customer service and their reaction to critique. I really don’t give a hoot about $2. It’s the principal of it all.

Thank you so much for this product! Was just what we needed to keep our dog out of the kitchen through our swinging door. Grabbed this to use with the Door Monkey and problem solved!

It attached easily to my scalloped door frame. My son realized if you yank on the door times the door Monkey will work it’s way down and he can open the door. It’s works better when I position the door monkey so that it hooks on near the top of the catch.

The screws in the package were weak and flimsy and broke while they were being screwed into the door frame. After we bought new screws, it works fine.

Silly little thing, but so necessary if you have older doors with wider jams. Wish you could have this piece sent to Canada like you can with the latch, though.
