A great fun activity for Kids
There are quite a few opinions on this product. This is what I have to say.It really depends on what you are after. This is a simple toy for kids aged 7+. It is rather straight forward to fold the box together and a nice little activity for children. I would recommend adult supervision, since the speaker wire is rather delicate and it doesn't take much to break the wire. (if the wire is broken, you would need a soldering iron to re-solder the wire onto the speaker terminal or it wouldn't work!). Also the cardboard is not very strong, so one must be careful not to bend the cardboard out of shape or it may not look nice.As for the volume, If you plug it into devices such as Ipods, Mp3 Players and mobile phones, it will NOT be very loud. This is because of a number of reasons:1. The Audio output power from these PDA devices are very small2. These are 2.25inch speakers and small speakers are not very efficient3. The speaker box is only made of cardboard and not rigid enough to produce good sound4. THERE IS NO INBUILT AMPLIFIER TO MAKE THE SPEAKER SOUND LOUDER, SO IN MOST CASES, ALL YOU GET OUT OF THESE SPEAKERS IS MUSIC THAT IS SO SOFT, YOU CAN HARDLY HEAR IT, EVEN IN A QUITE ROOM!! AND I AM NOT EXAGGERATING!!!(However since there is no amplifier, there is no need for batteries.)5. These small speakers are rated at (1 Watt each) which is not a lot. Even if you plug it into a more powerful device such as a desktop computer (i.e. computer sound card), chances are it will sound much louder, but is likely to damage these speakersOther bad points:6. These speaker boxes are not very stable and can easily flip over, so you will need a good flat surface to put them on.7. These speaker boxes are made of cardboard and are not water proof, so if you touch them with wet hands or spill drinks on them, chances are they will be damaged, and need to be replaced.8. if you accidentally drop things on or sit on these speakers, there is some chance they would be crushed, since it's only made from thin cardboardSo, the verdict is, if you are after a nice cheap kids activity for Children, these speakers are great. It is slso great for Educating children to be more environmentally friendly. If you are after durability, performance, volume and bass, please don't waste your time. It is much better to buy a pair of amplified computer speakers.I am happy to share experiences with other people. Great idea and execution, just not very loud
The idea of these foldable paper speakers is great. They're portable and simple to use, and don't require any power or recharging. They work with everything I've plugged them into, but just a warning - they're really not very loud at all. As unamplified speakers, this isn't a surprise, considering the wattage from the headphone jack of whatever you plug them into is the sole source of amplification. As a comparison, they produce about the same volume as my phone (Samsung Note 3) with the volume slider just past 50%. This is fine for what I need, but these are not what you'd want to use to make your laptop louder so you can present to a room full of people. Chances are your laptop will be considerably louder. I only needed it to softly play music from a speakerless mp3 player so it worked fine for me.Still - nifty idea, with a good quality build and components.

Poorly put together speakers
I would give this 2 stars because I appreciate the direction that the manufacturers are doing to make cheap, collapsable, and portable speakers. Unfortunately they really aren't that well put together and honestly the product deserves a 1 star rating. The speakers are fairly easy to put together although you have to be careful not to rip or permanently bend the paper. Also, unless the surface you are placing the speakers on is completely flat the speakers don't stand up and fall flat onto the speakers face, (I was trying them out on a bed with no real flat surface near by, even the floor was carpeted) so lets say if you took these speakers out to the park and your sitting on a field of grass and there are no tables or benches you might be screwed. Basically they don't sit like in the photo because that are to face heavy.I did all this set up even before i used them to see if the speakers were at least strong enough, because I was using them for my laptop that has very poor speakers and I can barley hear anything coming out of them. The result was that the speakers were as loud at the speakers on my laptop, very quiet and if there was a loud hum of lets say an A/C unit or heat vents running you can barley make out the sonds coming from them. There was really no difference when I plugged them and un plugged them.Bottom line: Look for another speaker.

Great portable sound
Saw these on a home electronics show and thought wow, what a great gift for the kids. They said they work great! They use them by the pool, by their desk everywhere they take their MP3 player. We liked them so much we have 3 sets! Now they don't have wonderful sound quality like a true set of speakers, but for something on the go they work great. Would recommend highly.

Good
Good sound. Great concept.. Delicate but re-folds nicely for storage but wouldn't contantly fold and set up as this is just cardboard that would quickly wearout. Also, assuming the electronics is durable, I think you could easily use the exhisting structure as pattern for replacement. I've only had these a couple months with nominal use.

Awesome!!
I was a little nervous to purchase these speakers because I didn't know what sort of quality they would turn out to be. However, I am incredibly glad I decided to buy them. They are pretty awesome. I use them in my car, by the pool, while I'm cooking in the kitchen, in the shower, etc. Considering that they're made from recycled cardboard and don't use any batteries or anything, they get fairly loud. I definitely reccomend these speakers to anyone with an ipod, mp3 player, etc who wants an afforadable, yet good quality set of speakers. I like them so much that as soon as they got here and I tried them, I immediately ordered another set for a family member. So glad that I bought these.
