Does what it says. Works with Mint. No TTL.
Xfinity keeps dropping out where I live. I work from home so I needed a backup option. For some reason my employers internal tools would not function on an iPhone / Android hotspot properly. As a desperate last attempt I decided to try this. What can I say? It works!! And works just fine. I went with a Mint Mobile 15GB plan as the unlimited is capped at 5GB for hotspot usage. This router does NOT have TTL settings whatsoever which unfortunately is a drawback. That said though 15GB should be more than enough for what I need it for and for the several times / month the internet goes out.Another nice feature is the RJ11 outlet for the phone. My girlfriend has two young boys that don’t need a cellphone yet but we wanted them to have a phone incase we’re out on a walk or one of us is bleeding out the can call 911 in an emergency. It worked as easily as you would think. Just plugged in this Panasonic phone and it picks up with a dial tone just like a landline! Ill be honest the nostalgia of having a landline again is pretty great. As I mentioned im using with mint mobile. I got my sim online and activated it in an android phone I had first then moved it to this modem and nothing else was needed for setup. All I did for setup was change the wifi name and password and a few other setting for my own preference.FYI the instructions and the admin login 192.168.1.1 is in Spanish. To change it its along the top of the screen as a drop down. Not much else to say.. it works and works well! The range is also excellent.Go for it!

Works Great in a Car or RV
I currently use this in my car as a mobile hotspot to replace my Mobley, as this device can connect to more bands than the Mobley, and it provides a solid data speed with AT&T. It's small enough to install in a car and hide it in my glovebox, using the USB power from my car stereo. In my area, I get a solid 20 x 20 Mbps connection from AT&T with this unit when the reception is good. The only real issue is that the antennas are hard to tighten, as the antenna hookups are very recessed into the unit, but not a big deal if you don't move it around too much, or if you wish to wire the antennas (and not use the ones it comes with). The other nice feature is that it has a LAN port, which means you can connect anything to it, including a 5 GHz AP if you wanted.I do definitely recommend going into the settings and disabling the data limit settings unless you have a good reason to use that feature, otherwise, you might have some of the timeout issues mentioned in other reviews (though honestly, as I use this in my car, I don't think mine has been on long enough to trigger any possible time outs).I suppose that this unit would also be good if you needed backup internet data to supplement your primary connection or needed a connection in a rural area with limited options. I've only ever used this device with AT&T, which works very well, though they don't recognize the device type from the IMEI (shows up as an "Unknown Device"), which may actually be a good thing, depending on the plan you have and how you want to use it. If you have the Mobley Connected Car plan, the AT&T APN is "broadband" instead of "nxtgenphone" or "phone". (I actually use this in my car exclusively, so I'm not violating the terms of my plan, or at least the spirit of it.)The device does feature an RJ-11 jack for a standard landline telephone connection, but I don't know how well the phone jack and line work in the device, as my plan isn't compatible with that (AT&T locks down VoLTE anyway to approved devices only anyway). It can receive text message notifications accessible on its configuration page, but I don't know if it can send them.

Works with ENTEL Chile (verizon users read below)
I travel every year to Chile, South America y this time I bought this unit because the place I stay at has really bad cellphone signal in the room I sleep in. I figure I place this on a window on the front of the house and try it out.Bought a cheap sim card from Entel. I placed it on my phone first. Activated the sim card, added some money and selected a unlimited data and phone plan. Then I placed the sim card on the unit. After a couple of minutes, all the lights turn blue, I was able to connect to wifi using the password from the bottom of the unit and that's it. Now I am in my room on wifi and works perfectly. The other perk I noticed that I use an eSIM with Verizon in United States and esim does not work in Chile for roaming BUT when I connected to wifi on the unit, my esim became active and I could get all the text messages from united States into my phone. I did not need to setup anything on the router. I did download the android app and checked it was on the latest firmware and it was. Is a little expensive at around 80 bucks, but knowing it works and be able to use it now for years to come make it a good investment. I just wish it would transmit wifi on 5G but it only has 2.4ghzNOTE Make sure you go into the web browser setting, dial up, monthly plan and set everything like the attached picture to avoid disconnectionUPDATE: Here is an awesome perk. When I returned to the US, I noticed verizon didn't bill me for all the calls and text used while I was on wifi. Turns out that while roaming and picking up wifi, all calls and text work as local and they don't charge as you are using wifi as backhaul. This is a game changer for me.

Works with Mint/ T-Mobile, Verizon sort of, but not Visible
I got great speeds from Mint mobile-they run on T-Mobile's network, and everything was plug and play. Verizon worked as well, using a real Verizon sim. Unfortunately, the speeds were throttled down to dial up modem speeds, so not usable. That may have had as much to do with the Verizon plan as this router. Again, plug and Play seem to work with Verizon for me. I could not get Visible, who run on Verizon's network, to work at all. Manually setting the APN to either vzwinternet or vsblinternet did nothing, the Alcatel just never found the mobile network.Unfortunately, Mint shuts off mobile hotspot data after 5 gig per month, and this router flags its data use as mobile hotspot. Not sure if there's a way to change this in the router, but I'm not going to pursue that. The product feels great, wifi strength was more than adequate to cover my 1800 sq ft house, admin is easy (though the web interface does default to Spanish, and the manual shipped was also in Spanish). In my area, I was getting three bars without the antenna, and bounced between three and four with, so they do seem to help.I am bummed this won't work for my application, but for folks that have better data plans than I, it could be a good toy. It definitely would make for a tidy install. This will even send and receive texts through the web interface, and weirdly, you can plug in an analog phone into this for voice. I tested that, and it worked well. It not got enough current to ring a true hammer and bell ringer reliably, but I'm guessing it would make a speaker style "bell" ring.Oh, one star off for being only 2.4gHz wifi.

Esy to install and works well
This router works extremely well. I live in a remote area without cable, fiber or any high speed internet other than satellite which in my case is slow anyway. I had DSL but that was discontinued where I live. I use this with an AT&T data only plan for $55 a month. This router uses a sim and the only trouble I had with setup was with AT&T and not the router. Since the initial setup I have had trouble free operation with this router. Others have mentioned it keeps turning off or needed to be reset every few days. This problem can be solved in the online settings, I don't remember exactly where in the settings but I did find the solution online. It's been about three months without an issue. I get 2 out of 3 bars on the router and I get a good signal throughout a 24x40 house. I find this to be a quality router and well worth the price. I would highly recommend to anyone needing internet in a remote area within 10 miles of a cell tower.

WARNING - Limited configuration and functionality, WOULD NOT BUY
Ordered 2024-09-21, $59.28, Router Alcatel Link Hub 4G LTE Unlocked Worldwide HH41NH -In the USA. Using a prepaid TMOBILE MVNO SIM with unlimited voice, text, data, I was able to to connect a POTS phone and make and receive phone calls, only odd thing was the ringer only rang at half the normal length as you would expect. It uses a micro sized SIM, no adapter included,The SIM slot on the devices is recessed so much that it's difficult to insert/eject without using some sort of tool. Using the corner another SIM card the same thickness works. There is a WAN/LAN2 port that will act as a gateway when connected to wired connection.I was never able to actually use cellular data, but I was able to see data usage when I checked with my provider. The place where you add a APN profile for your carrier is strange; there is no place to add in all the information as there would be on a smartphone, just some login credentials which are not normally needed or used.I was never able to connect to it's WIFI, even tried multiple devices (2 laptops, smartphone), not even for simply configuring the device.Contacted Alcatel technical support. They said it's "plug and play" and should "just work". There is no firmware update available (but sorely needed). The cellular antenna SMA ports are so far recessed, that you would have a difficult time using externally roof/eve mounted antennas using coax cables, and/or with directional yagi antennas.Only real positive thing it has is that it uses micro-usb for power, so you could use a power bankto power it during a power outage.Return for refund, as not operable.

It Just Works!
First purchased this in August, 2021 to bring to my sister in Italy so she could use it to connect her home environment to the internet via Italian mobile phone company Iliad’s 300 GB per month for 14€ plan. Set it up for her in September, 2021 and it works seamlessly even now in March 2023. Fast, reliable, flawless. The Alcatel modem router is designed for international use. Has replaced her previously overpriced, slow, unreliable provider of home internet. Initially selected the Alcatel brand because they supplied pocket modems to TIM mobile in Italy so I imagined they would get it right for these home modems too. Just purchased a second one received yesterday for our own family use when we visit Italy in shifts every summer-autumn to benefit from the same inexpensive Iliad data only plan to stay connected for work and general internet use. Alcatel is not well known here in USA but is French company very familiar with European technical standards and requirements. Highly recommended.

It works perfectly…
I bought it in early July didn’t get to use it until Monday this week, already used up over 50GB of data. It’s easy to setup, just like a plug and play device - you pop your sim in and turn it on, the lights load up you got internet.I even use it in my car, this box is crazy good to have. I have it running Netflix too.?Value fo money, Signal strength, compatibility and easy rebooting process.

Fantastic Product with poor instructions
My internet didn't work out of the box after installing the SIM card and connecting. To resolve this I connected to the box via wifi, entered the password on the bottom label connected to 192.168.1.1 and used the setup. I was still not able to even load up Google. To resolve this i looked up my cellular providers APN ip and entered all the info in Settings/Profile.I added a new profile and entered the APN and i have internet now. This device can read and send text messages, has a phone provision to use with a regular land line phone. It also keeps track of your Data usage and lets you set a limit so you do'nt use more than your plan allows
