Barbie: What a Doll! Hardcover – January 1, 1994

A hit with my daughter who loves the barbie Live book! This has an even better historical view of the evolution of the doll and fashions mimicking haute couture! Lots of fun and very inspiring to my artistic daughter.

I bought this product december 2nd and it is now christmas eve and this was supposed to be a small gift and now i cant give it. HIGHLY dissatisfied!!!!!

This book isn't bad...the pictures are nice and it tries to be entertaining by reading like Barbie telling her "story" but they are some key flaws. There is no actual history of Barbie, none of the photos show more than one view of any of the outfits, Barbie's family and friends are barely mentioned (not one single picture), and most annoyingly none of the pictures tell the title of the doll or the outfit but only describe it...as if you can't see it. It was published in 1994 so don't expect any recent dolls or fashions pictured. The pictures are nice, especially the full page ones. There is a Barbie family tree at the back of the book as well a list of nationalities Barbie has represented are careers she has had.
