Good Value and Battery Life
Good power, I also use it to check for light loss. Seems to have about a -18db @ 1310 transmit level which is perfect for checking sonet spans.

The laser is a lot more dangerous than claimed in the power specification
I am a university professor who teaches and does research specifically in the field of lasers and optics. I wanted to buy a low power laser so that my K-12 outreach activities could be safe enough to be done by teachers rather than laser experts. This product claimed 1 mW output power and class 1 (technically class 1 is 0.4 mW or less at this wavelength). Anyway, I measured it to be 26 mW, which is way more powerful than is safe for any classroom demonstration. I don’t know why the box has options listed of 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 50, and 60 mW with 1 mW checked and the laser has a sticker saying 1 mW when the actual output power is orders of magnitude higher. I’m returning it and continuing my search. Advice to others: be careful to not let even stray reflections reach your eye. This laser outputs well above the 5 mW limit of a class 3B laser and can do serious damage to your eyes even for short exposure.

Lasted about 6 months
Worked well till it broke outta no where.

good enough build quality but seemingly massively overpowered. Not 1mW but ~15mW according to my measurements. Eye damage anyone?

Compared to my Corning laser, I had more success using this tool. It's reliable and at a good price.
