Killer Queen Black - Nintendo Switch

It’s still fun, but you cannot play with your friends on other platforms. (I.e., if you play on switch, you cannot play with your friend on Xbox or pc / steam)This “feature” is in development.EDIT: For Clarification, you can play with random people on different platforms (what they called “cross-platform”), but there is no way to add your friends, so it doesn’t really matter.

Having played the arcade game in a local bar my family was super excited when I told them that this game would be coming to the Switch. I got a copy on sale a couple of days ago but I immediately started to regret this purchase when playing last night for the first time.I played with me and my two kids so there were three of us locally.My list of issues:- Everyone locally all has the same names. This is super confusing and many times my son thought that his controller was not working because he would push the buttons and the character he thought was his would not move. On my Switch player 1 is named Chris, player 2 is Chris(1), player 3 is Chris(2), and player 4 is Chris(3). Very hard to understand which character is yours when all of the workers look the same and are all named Chris when standing next to each other- There is no way to play just locally with bots. You must play with online players.- There is no way to have 4 people playing locally with 2 on one team and 2 on the other. It always made us play on the same team against the online players.- Button lag/imprecise controller response makes the game harder to play, especially with my kids who are younger (9,10)- You will often start a game only to realize you are in the middle of a game that was already ongoing. I don't want to start a game only to realize that my team is already behind.- Glitches galore. Sometimes the menu will not understand that I pressed a button. Sometimes the game will start and my character will jump without me pressing any buttons. I've had a match where there was a severe glitch and the other team got to start several seconds before we did. The walls came down and their queen was right next to us killing us all.Overall this just doesn't seem very polished at all. I was hoping that this would feel very similar to the arcade game but it doesn't. We'll still continue to play but I can likely see us dropping this after a few weeks. I'd probably feel at least a little better if this was $10 versus the normal $30. Simply not worth it.

Killer Queen Black is an amazingly fun game and an even better party game. I played with my brother and two friends (couch co-op), and we had an absolute blast. This is definitely my new go-to party game (even over Smash Bros, as heretical as that may sound to some).The gameplay is very well balanced, and encourages quick-thinking and cooperation to secure victory.The only thing I would change about the game is that I wish there were more maps. There’s only a handful of maps, and it isn’t uncommon to play the same maps three times in a row. But adding new maps should be something that can easily be patched into the game (at least I think, I’m not a game developer).As a side note, the included stickers look really nice. The sticker quality is very good and the colors really pop.

This is an online game through and through. Don't buy this if your expecting anything else. Even the couch co-op mode feels and looks like an online game. Gameplay is very simple and I was bored in 5 minutes. Sold the game back the day after I opened it. If you love mindless online games and pixel art, check it out. If you were drawn to it by the cover art and or graphics alone, hard pass......

This game has a pretty huge arcade following and I am glad it’s been ported to home consoles. It’s a fast paced action strategy game where two teams try to beat the other. There are three ways to win a match. You can either kill the opposing teams queen 3 times first a military victory. Collect enough berries to fill your honeycomb for a economic victory or ride the giant snail to the finish line for a snail victory. Games last usually a few minutes and the best of 5 wins. It’s a lot of fun and games happen so fast that you keep coming back for more. This is definitely worth the purchase

I haven’t even played this yet but I know I’m going to love it. I play the arcade version at a local bar on occasion and I freaking love it.

I've seen this game at Arcade bars, and it looks sick! But the cost of entry always seemed steep, especially if it was just you and a couple of others. But if I were going with a group of friends, this would've definitely been the spot! The game at home, is very similar. However, if you aren't willing to go online for the steep learning curve, you better practice at the arcade. You can either serve as a drone bee, or the Queen. The object of this game is simple, win by putting the most berries in your hive, or by racing the snail to your side of the screen, or eliminate the other Queen three times. The game moves fast, and is very fun! I would definitely recommend it as a party game, everyone can bring their joy-con, and then enjoy it. However, if it is just you, you'll have to venture in to the scary, and sometimes sparce world of online play. For the price, go get on that learning curve, and then go dominate at the arcade bar, with a hearty cheers with the rest of your friends!

My favorite game on the Nintendo switch there is no game that is as competitive as killer queen and all the bad reviews are just hating on a great game!! Buy it now!!

This is a really fun game, simple to play, fun to master. there are 3 ways to win, Kill the queen 3 times, Collect the Berries for your team or cross the finish line with the snail. Sounds Easy but it's challenging when there are multiple things happening on the screen and everyone is doing their thing to achieve victory. A really fun game for the whole family. Online is challenging also.
