Great price to re-watch this fun movie!

I stumbled upon a bit of this movie on TV but missed the first 20 minutes or so. I looked it up on Amazon and decided to purchase the rental.So glad I did. I do not remember hearing much about this movie when it released so it was a great surprise.This movie has the perfect mix of comedy and drama that actually feels like life and then makes the funny parts even funnier.The plot is extremely interesting and leads into some very interesting discussions. Don't want to spoil any of it because there is so much that happens in the story that is unexpected and definitely not just your basic romcom.Holly Hunter is fantastic in this movie and I really enjoyed the lead, Brittany Murphy, and was sad that she had passed and we wouldn't see more from her since she was such a great talent in this movie.If you like a movie that will make you laugh and think with great plot twists, then you'll love this one.

Totally unrealistic but bitter realism at heart

I always end up loving Holly Hunter flicks, she's a terrific actress. And Kathy Bates can act up a storm; she plays the role of a reality TV show host and does it up great. I can't say that I recall seeing a movie with Brittany Murphy before, but she plays the lead in this one as a girl who plans and tries to plot out her life to mold things so they will end up a certain way, in an effort to gain certain outcomes. She sees the results, which in some cases initially look like positives, but might be short-lived ones. And she has to deal with the fallout. Sometimes, she finds out planning can really pay off. I'm being a bit vague here as I don't want to spoil this for anyone who hasn't seen it. The movie is funny, is definitely a romantic comedy and I loved the Carly Simon music throughout. And I'm going to check out some other Brittany Murphy movies. This was very smartly written and produced. I liked it so much I am going to buy the DVD. It's only a $.99 cent rental on Amazon Instant Video, but this is a keeper and I can't wait to watch it again. I wish I would have discovered this movie sooner!

Very well written story, actors, and message for dishonest partners to consider

she shouldn't be. her mother loves carly simon. i watched the movie , i owned, after 17 years, again ,last night. i don't like it. everyone is mean. they get pleasure out of making others suffer. the only nice person, in the movie is brittany.it made us sad and depressed. why do people get pleasure out of hurting each other. i hate this kind of talk show, where she works.the commercials , on tv , arre enough to ruin your day, i would never watch one.

I don't know why so many people have said this movie was rubbish, it led me to wonder if I had watched the same film as everyone else! Little black Book is one of those rare movies that really touches you. The ending is simply superb and I did not see it coming. The concluding scene was really tense but the writers still managed to bring humour into it! I really enjoyed this movie...Brittany Murphy does an excellent job as the main character and portrays her very well. This movie has everything a romantic comedy needs; romance, humour, a great plot and superb acting. Don't be put off by other reviews, watch it and see for yourself how good it is!

Lovely way to spend a rainy afternoon, a lovely girly film.

Little Black Book is a film about a woman (Brittany Murphy) who works in the production team of a chat show and is encouraged by her colleagues to look into her boyfriend's past (Ron Livingstone)with lively results!A film that succeeds in showing how ruthless tv people are to get ratingsbut that fails to make your heart-rate pick up until the last 15 minutes or so.Overall it's not a good film, nor is it a bad film.

Arrived, in time and excellent condition. can't go wrong, good to watch for a bit of cheese...Not sure I would recommend it!
