A really good android stereo. Attention to detail would put it over the top.
I've been driving around with this stereo for 3 weeks now, and I confidently say it does its job very well. It looks amazing installed and the sound quality is very clear. (Light years ahead of my previously installed stereo.) I've installed about 10 different car stereos in my life and this one is no different. If you know how to install a car stereo you shouldn't have any problem with this. I installed this is in my 2006 F150 Super Crew connected to a 4 channel amp and 1 mono amp with two 8 inch down-firing subwoofers under the rear seat. It sounds incredible in my set up! The equalizer app it comes with does a nice job of fine-tuning and customizing the sound. Most people just plug in the stereo, turn it on, and they are fine. Nothing wrong with that, but if you like to dial-in that perfect sound, this stereo can do it, no problem. If you don't already have steering wheel controls I highly suggest you purchase some universal controls and install them. They make the experience so much better. This is the one I purchased:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0778LV3M8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Very simple to install. All the wiring is labeled so there is no guesswork. After you install them, you have to go into the steering wheel control app and set up the buttons' functions. (ie: you have to tell the stereo when I press this button, do this.) They even have short press and long press features. Meaning, one button can control two different functions of the stereo. After I set up the buttons they worked right away. I've never had an issue with them. Now, for the bad. (More like annoying) Basically, these are Android tablets turned into car stereos. (We all know that) Because it's Android we can customize this however we want. (That's the beauty of Android) The stock launcher is ok but doesn't allow for much customization. For example, I couldn't remove any of the app shortcuts from the home screen. I was stuck with the home screen layout they gave me. I installed the Car Launcher Pro app from the Google App store and it's 1000x better than the stock launcher. You can build your own home screen and customize it however you want or you can just go with their pre-installed templates. (That's what I did)I use my phone as a wifi Hotspot for the stereo. Sometimes it will automatically connect, which is great! Other times I have to manually go through the settings and turn of the wifi to get it to connect. I haven't figured out why this is so hit or miss, but it's very annoying. I would rather it just auto-connect every time I get in my truck so I don't have to think about it.The screen is very bright. This is great on a sunny day. Not so great when you're driving at night or at 4:30 am heading into work, like me. You can dim the brightness of the screen, but it hardly dims the screen at all. The lowest brightness setting is still too bright for me. To compensate for this, I installed another app called Dimly Screen-Dimmer. That app allows you to "dim" the screen past its normal settings. You can even set a time frame so it will start dimming the screen automatically. The buttons on the left side of the screen come with their backlight turned off. This is very annoying when driving at night. The buttons backlights are set to turn on when you turn on your parking lights. You can go into the settings and change this to where they are on anytime the stereo is on. To do this you go to Settings > Car > Factory Settings > enter code: 126 > Other > Panel LED Control > change it to "By Power" > press Apply, then let the stereo Reboot. You can even change the color of the backlight the same way.Overall I really like this stereo. It sounds great, has great features and basically does everything I need it too. I'm really happy with the purchase.

This is an amazing head unit.
I can't believe how well this head unit works right out of the box. I really wanted CarPlay to work, and I figured I was taking a chance since I didn't see them mention it in the ad. I bought the Carlinkit (that's how they spell it) from Amazon along with the head unit, and my CarPlay works flawlessly. There was a small sticker with a URL on the front of the Carlinkit box. It was a link to the software that you must have for CarPlay to work. Once that was installed, my CarPlay worked perfectly. As for the Android functionality it is almost perfect. The radio works as I would expect it to. My backup camera is flawless. The WiFi works great in my driveway, and the tethering to my Iphone works great also. Sometimes I've noticed that it doesn't automatically want to tether to my Iphone when I get into my truck. I just go to the wireless portion of the Android system, it scans, sees it, and I select my iphone for it to join. Then I'm back in business. I have added some Apps including Waze, YouTube TV, Philo and a couple of weather apps. The only app I have issues with is Weather Underground; it doesn't appear to want to scale the screen properly.I don't know how the durability will be of this product. The product certainly doesn't give me any indication that it won't be durable. I'm impressed with how the screen connects to the head unit. It looks and feels very durable. I have to admit that I feel like I'm getting away with something buying this unit at this price point. I look at what Kenwood and Pioneer have to offer at some much higher prices, and they provide only a fraction of the features with a resistive touchscreen.Did I mention the screen of the Eonon? It looks as good as any tablet or phone that I use. The only complaint I have is that I have not been able to figure out how to change the home screen. It has a music player widget that I won't use, and I cannot remove it. I'm sure I'll figure it out. I say that if this is my only complaint, then it must be a pretty amazing unit.Lastly.... the install went very smoothly. If you know how to install a car stereo then this should be no problem. I left my WiFi antenna in the dash, and I am able to get good signal from my WiFi in the house. I did run the GPS puck to the top of the dash, and it works fine. The only issue I had with my backup camera was that the image was reversed. I went into the settings and reversed the image there. That cleaned it up nicely. Have you ever tried backing a vehicle with the backup image reversed? It's really confusing!
