Halston - Director's Cut
P**E
American Couturier
Far more interesting than the director's previous documentary 'Dior & I', this fascinating film about a high fashion designer in New York, in the 1970s and early 1980s, unfolds like a version of Citizen Kane. Halston was clearly a very talented designer, but not such an astute businessman (despite his initial great success). As PR he would surround himself with up to twenty of his models (the 'Halstonettes') for a night on the town. He was a regular at Studio 54. Some of his designs are ravishing. Ultimately, a tragic tale.

Captivating
Brilliantly edited. The narrative is riveting. If you love fashion and unique character, this one is for you. After watching this documentary on a long haul flight, I had to purchase it.
