By the time ABC's Spin City debuted on Sept.17th 1996. Superstar Canadian-American Film & TV icon Micheal J Fox, had already been diagnosed & living with Parkinson's disease(A devastating & progressive neurological disorder that leaves some with it as virtual prisoners in their own bodies.) for at least 5 years!He'd also battled Alcoholism(related to the despair that often comes with an illness like Parkinson disease.)Additionally, he also struggled in the early 1990's with a botched film career(Save for, the Back To The Future Trilogy,The Secret Of My Success, Doc Hollywood & late in his run on Spin City,the Dec.1999 Blockbuster Stuart Little.)So Spin City marked a major comeback for a film/TV vet. Who'd been through a rough decade up to this point. From the very first Episode of the series, you get the idea that Micheal J. Fox doesn't give up easily. The Show really was his to carry. Although his supporting cast-mates do the absolute best to keep up with him.The Show is all about Micheal J. Fox's comeback to the medium that made him a star in the 1980's with Family Ties.Highlights/Standouts of this first season include: The Pilot, Dog Day Afternoon, Criss Cross,Meet Tommy Dugan, A Star Is Born, Grand Illusion, The High And The Mighty,The Great Pretender, Bye, Bye Lover & several others.To Sum Up Spin City: The Complete First Season is simply Micheal J. Fox at his best,Period.

Although I wasn't old enough to enjoy the show on its first run, I've made sure to allocate time to watching any and all re-runs over the years. Eventually I decided that I'd like to be able to watch it on my terms, as many times as I'd like, and therefore decided to pick up this DVD for Season 1.Focused primarily (mostly) in the New York City Mayor's Office, Michael J. Fox, along with an incredible cast, work to help out New Yorkers, put out political "fires", and develop relationships over the course of the season. The show is very obviously a comedy with sarcasm, satire, puns, put-downs, and every other type of humor utilized in-between spurts of important dialogue and deeper emotions surrounding events such as ongoing romances and hot political topics such as gay marriage (civil rights) and workers compensation.I've not found a boring/dull episode to date and the show is a fantastic pick-me-up. Sunny days, rainy days, horrible days...pop in the DVD and relax (and laugh)!

Bought this last week arrived today saying it was “brand new”.Upon opening it noticed a few scratches wiped it down but would not removed. When I tried playing it it would not play. Very unhappy with this purchase and this “seller” also very expensive as going to Ireland. DO NOT BUY.

Finally someone has released this series onto DVD...I love Michael J Fox in this role and thought the emsemble cast was amazing.This is a really funny,witty and clever series something you don't see much of these days on American Television. I will admit I have pre-ordered this with some hesitation as it seems that any series that is not current will be released for season one and then you never see the follow on seasons. I have never heard of this distributor but I hope they have more respect for their viewing customers than Fox, Warners or Sony.

This show is an absolute gem,I can't believe it has taken this long to get a release. Michael J. Fox is fantastic and the chemistry between the entire ensemble was just hilarious and made for such engaging viewing.I am so glad the 1st season is coming to dvd so I can be amused by City Halls' hijinx time and time again. I do hope all four seasons are released and quickly.Thank you Spin City cast for classic comedy that delivers everytime I watch.

I still am a huge fan of the show. I have seasons 1 to 3, and I have watched all three seasons four times in the first two months of owning it. I am only disappointed in the fact that the studio never released seasons 4 to 6, and that season 3 end on with you wanting to know what happens next.....Other than all this, I'm lovng it.

Ho comprato questo DVD Box (stagione 1 Spin City) perché è stato detto che era in edizione tedesca. Ne deduco che la Regione Europa 2. Questo è rilevata la presenza di regione DVD 1 degli Stati Uniti. L'altro Spin città caselle DVD edizione tedesca do play off (stagione 2 a 6) sia il mio computer e il mio lettore blu ray. Perhaps unfair to list as 5 star right now as I havent had this set delivered (on order) but I am writing based on the 100+ episodes I collected off TV up until the last episode almost 6 years ago and this is without doubt the sharpest/driest/best scripted comedy show to come from the states (& UK come to that) for years & the acting from everyone is well nailed. Michael J Fox has always been a favourite for me and the show did drop a notch when he left however Charlie Sheen more than held his own thanks to the wonderful support cast that remained. For me this makes Cheers seem amateurish and that was probably the best programme from that side of the pond up until Spin City...I urge the distributors to ensure all the seasons are released in full during 2009 as I certainly shall be purchasing the lot and chuckling away profusely...enjoy !

以前にTBSで放送していたころからファンです。NYの市長補佐が主人公のコメディ。政治を舞台にして堅苦しそうに思えるかもしれませんが、そんなことはないです。めっちゃくちゃ楽しいドラマです。英語の勉強のために購入しました。最初は自分にとってレベルが高いと思いましたが、手順を踏んで使用すれば学習に立ちます。１ニコニコ動画で吹き替えがupされてるので、日本語吹き替えで普通に楽しむ　１回２このDVDで字幕ありで見る　２or３回３字幕なしでみる　聞こえるようになるまでこんな感じで、私は実践しています。ちょいと政治の専門用語が混じってくるのが、難点です。でも慣れれば爆笑しながら、英語と皮肉、ジョークの使い方を勉強できますよ。ちなみに１話から２４話までを収録日本語非対応、英語字幕のみ使用可
