The Ultimate Yorkshire Terrier Book: Guide to Caring, Raising, Training, Breeding, Whelping, Feeding and Loving a Yorkie

A very simply written easy to understand book. Simple basics that any Yorkie owner should already know, but offers a personal view that you can tell comes from the heart of someone who has owned a Yorkie and knows their loyalty and love. However, I would not consider this book "the ultimate" book of Yorkies because it only touches on the chapter subjects. If you are looking for "a Yorkie Bible" kind of book, this is not the one. This is certainly not meant in a derragatory manner, I am simply stating this is a short, to the point, written book. It would take VOLUMES to explain everything about any breed. I enjoyed the book and the author's straightforwardness in her writing. I can surely tell she has owned many of them and has a dedicated, undying love for the breed. I would recommend this book to a new Yorkie owner.

This book is very educational, but terrible when it comes to misspelled words. Even more than that, completely incorrect words! Example: head instead of heat or of instead of or... She's not the best writer, but it is a good book. However, I do NOT appreciate this passage: "You will notice that throughout this section, I will refer to the "bitch" as female or dam. Although "bitch" is the correct technical term for a female dog, I personally find it offensive and degrading, and believe that word should be used in reference only when one is speaking about their mother-in-law." Seriously!!! Who says that?! Am I the only person who likes my mother-in-law? Yikes!

I found the Ultimate Yorkie book very interesting. I truly bought this book for a friend that has a Yorkie but I had to sit and read it myself first. Very nicely done and beautiful cover. We have personally made the dog food for our Black Lab and is truly good for the dogs. I have received more compliments on our dog's beautiful and soft coat.For anyone that has a Yorkie or are contemplating getting a Yorkie this is a must have and an excellent book.You can certainly tell that Patti has Yorkie's of her own to put this type of book together and lots of expeience with them. An excellent book for all Yorkie Lovers.

I bought this books a couple weeks ago because I am getting a yorkie and wanted to know everything I possible could to have a healthy and happy dog. This book covers everything you need to know and makes is simple and to the point, not something long and drawn out. I know that in the future I will be referring to this book when I have questions and can not remember excetly what to do. I am so in love the yorkie breed and can not wait to get my puppy. This is a great buy for someone learning about the breed either because you think you might want a yorkie or even if you have many and are a breeder.

I am a breeder and I knew most of what the book would tell the reader, but I use it as a reference and I include it in each new owner’s new puppy packet.

This book must have been self-published via a vanity press. Spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors abound. Perhaps I am hyper-critical but if I had paid full price I would be sending it back for a refund. Instead, I purchased it through Amazon Warehouse at a reduced price. I did not find any hidden nuggets that allowed me to overlook the editorial errors. Do not waste your money. Find the Yorkie guide you are looking for somewhere else. Vanity press publications are named properly. Vanity. If a book is worth printing it should be worth having an editor review it before publishing..

The author of this book should have hired an editor. The misuse of the word "than" when it should be "then" and several other typos were prominent on the very first page. I find it hard to value the information of an "expert" who can't use proper grammar when writing a book. Also, I thought this book would be the end all, be all informative on Yorkies. It leaves much to be desired.As far as the Amazon purchase experience, I am happy as usual. Surprised that it took so long to ship, but satisfied non the less.

The book covered many topics about Yorkie that I had never considered. I think it is very useful for novice owners.

I think I expected a bit more information there wasn't much information about everything it seemed to just short snippets about each item.
