These single malt glasses are made of lead free crystal.When the Vikings invaded Waterford they appreciated its strategic value as a major trading port for goods and merchandise, a role it continues to play to this day. A lot of goods both dry and wet were shipped by barrel and a healthy barrel making industry developed in the Waterford area. Barrel makers or coopers as the trade was known continued their craft right up to the twentieth century before they were overtaken by modern technology.

Misleading photo / Too large
Good glasses but much larger than pictured. I was actually concerned they would be too small but they are too wide and uncomfortable to hold in your hand - will return then. The photographs are misleading to the actual size.

Beautiful glasses. Very thin rim. Delicate but with a heavy bottom and good overall weight.

Not entirely pleased
Lovely Glasses, but much larger than expected.Filling to the top of the crystal cut, as illustrated, is more than a taste!
