This was just bad. There is something very very wrong with this product.I got it at first because I wanted fiber and a sweeter in one kind of like Splenda Fiber. The only thing was that the Splenda only came in small little packets that were a pain in the neck for me. I wanted something sold by the pound and Splenda only had that option for the products sans fiber. So I went browsing and looking and came upon this.First, it is NOT SWEET. It is not sweet at all. I tried it twice, spooned in huge embarrassing amounts into my coffee and nothing. It tasted like nothing had been added. To be sure I tasted it with the tip of my tongue, the one place where tastes are most sensitive. and it confirmed what I had thought, it has not taste at all.All that honestly would have been negligible and I would not have started to write this long review based on that alone, hell I would have just returned the bag and left it at that. But the ominous thing about this product, it made me lethargic and sleepy. It took me a while to realize that it was this product that twas making me weak and drowsy eyed. But I subtracted everything from my diet, examined everything I had eaten the days before and the only new addition was the tasteless sweeter that I had been adding to my morning coffee.I was flabbergasted to say the least.I am not a doctor or some scientist and have no idea what is approved or not approved to be put in the production of sweeteners, but I am guessing that there is something in this that shouldn't be.I was falling asleep. I had to leave work early because I was so tired, drained and exhausted, as if I had been drugged. It was scary.I drive an hour to and from work, each way. I cannot afford to fall asleep behind the wheel of my car, and I am sure there are others who can't afford this either.Just my own $0.02 everyone, before you buy, please take heed.

Helps beneficial bacteria produce butyrate, but might raise blood sugar slightly.
UPDATE MAY 3RD, 2018: I raised this to 5 stars. I have tested my blood sugar consistently while using this supplement, and I have noticed no significant rise in blood sugar. In fact, I think the butyrate produced from this fiber has improved my insulin sensitivity to the point where my overall A1c has fallen to 5.4, which is quite good compared to where it was before I started taking this fiber. I think this fiber is very beneficial for my good bacteria and very good at producing butyrate. I give it my highest recommendation, and I take a lot of prebiotic supplements. Out of all of them, this is my favorite one.-------------------------------------------- old review ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------It mixes easily in water, but it is rather sticky. Make sure to wash out your glass with more water and swallow that water to get all of it down, otherwise there will be some wasted. There is considerable research about this type of fiber, known as IMOS. The research seems to indicate that it helps your beneficial bacteria produce butyrate in very large amounts. Keep in mind that unlike FOS, it is partially digested in the small intestine, so not all of it makes it to the large intestine, but the part that does make it there seems to be more effective than FOS at making butyrate. So, what does that mean to you? If you are on a strict keto or a strict diabetic diet, this might raise your blood sugar. As far as I can tell with my blood glucose meter, there is only a small rise, but be careful and check your meter to see if this right for you. If you can take it without too much of a sugar spike, it is a great source of butyrate for your large intestine.

Like cotton candy
I find the syrup form more useful than the powder form, but I'm glad I have both. The powder, eaten straight, tastes kind of like cotton candy. It's not nearly as sweet as sugar, and just adding more of it doesn't seem to really help. So in recipes, I use a similar volume as I would sugar, and then I intensify the flavor with sucralose drops. It works out rather well.

Making healthier choices
I gave it 3stars because ordering was easy but their delivery was very unsatisfied not a happy camper.but over all it was ok for making healthy protein muffins and other with whey protein powder.I like to experiment on making healthy sweet treats but very exspensive for me it goes very fast being i only got to enjoy only one of the two bags i did order but was refunded for my 2nd bag which was great but would been nice also by ordering the two bags had plans for more sweet treat experince but only had 1bag to work with wasnt trusting another bag at my expense with the unsatisfied delivery for time waited and consume from it over all seems its a ok product just very pricey.......

Did not taste sweet no matter what quantity was used.
Did not taste sweet no matter what quantity was used. Possible use would be to replace the bulk /volume that sugar provides in a recipe and add some other sweetener ( stevia drops , saccharin) that needs just a small amount to sweeten

Beware: 'Made in China'!!!!!
I was very excited about this product and it's benefits to the good bacteria in your gut. Until I saw that the bag says 'Made in China'. Unfortunately, I had already purchased it:( I will not be buying this brand again because I refuse to eat food from China.
