Fine thread grade 8 bolts would be perfect and would ...
This sight tool worked very well on my Kimber 1911, which are notoriously difficult to adjust. My reason for only four stars is in regard to the hardware used. Fine thread grade 8 bolts would be perfect and would allow for more precise sight adjustment. The wing nut on mine looks like someone hammered on it with a wrench or something. I had to file off the burs before I could use it without it snagging my skin. Again, functionally it is fine, it just needs some work on fit and finish.

Had a hard time
I got this to change the front sights on my Glock 27. I had fits trying to get the sights off. I'm not sure if it was the tool or me.

Very Handy Tool to Have
After trying to use a brass punch and hammer on multiple Glocks, I finally decided to get the right tool for the job. This tool did the job quickly and easily, and without costing $100+ like some of the others. I gave it 4 stars because, as others have noted, the course threads make it somewhat difficult to get a precise alignment - just takes more time. But all in all, this tool is great!

Saved my sight!
I bought this due to destroying two sets of sights on my poor M&P Shield. The M&P line is known for having just stupidly tight sights and mine was no exception. After some shimming, this tool was a huge help to me. Now I could have paid less at a gunsmith but I figured at fifty nine bucks, if I use it only once more, I`ll have broke even. So why not - maybe I`ll even barter some items in trade for my "sight services" now :)Here is the catch that i think some people dont get: when this says "universal", it doesn't mean it automagically fits every slide and sight made. That only means it can be made to work (on most guns likely), with some ingenuity involved. I had to remove blocks and insert wood shims and line the slide with thick cloth and place it in my vise to keep it steady. But in the end, it worked very well for a gun known to be one of the most difficult to change sights. So 5 Stars all the way. Also, this is much larger and sturdier than I expected. It's a good chunk of metal. Including pics for better reference.

Quality adequate but not well suited
The product was well made and for the right gun(s) it looked like it would work well. However, there was no way to make it work on the handgun for which I purchased it. No mention in the product description was made that I needed custom, insertable blocks for specific handguns. Had this been the case, I'd have specified the guns in which I was interested and perhaps then it would ave been configured properly. I returned the product without incident.

Finally!
All I wanted to do was drift the factory front sight on my S&W M&P Shield. After beating on it with drift punches and accomplishing nothing more than marringthe bottom of the sight, I purchased this tool.It took a little time to shim the slide to the proper height but once I did I slowly started putting pressure on the sight. At first, nothing. And there was a lot of resistance in spite of soaking the sight in penetrating oil over night. I decided to persevere and tightened some more until I heard a crack! Thought I either broke the sight or the slide but on examination, I found the sight moved! Evidently the crack was the Loctite S&W put under the sight (a questionable practice) breaking free. A few more careful turns on the bolt and the sight moved to the position I wanted. If you have the patience to do the setup, this may work for you too.

JUST SAY NO!!! BUILD IT!
NO FINE ADJUSTMENT!! Made mine with fine thread bolts and a piece of square tubing and drilled holes. Coarse threads on Universal make it impossible for fine adjustment and to hard to turn!!!

Better than I expected
When I first purchased this sight tool, I wasn't expecting more than some crude metal pieces that I could use to push my sights around. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened it to find that it's actually a nice, solid tool. Now keep in mind, being a universal hand gun tool, you are going to need to adjust it according your firearms slide height and width, using some makeshift shims if necessary, but that is what we are paying for.... I have several different models of handguns and don't want to spend $100+ on each brand in order to replace sights. This is perfect and well worth the price.I've used this on my M&P Shield and Sig p229 so far. It does the job.
