Very versatile
I recently moved to a new apartment. I have used the regular pull up bar that you attach to the door frame for the last 3 years. However, it did not fit on my door frames at my new place. The door frames are slightly more narrow than most door frames. These worked perfectly. Price is more than what I would normally pay but there is literally not another pull up tool like this.PROS: It fits all door frames. I'm a 5'9 180 it supports me just fine. There is no slippage. Can easily use neutral grip and overhand grip. It's portable and you can use basically anywhere.CONS: If your door frame is narrow like mine you won't be able to do wide grip pull ups. Also do not swing while doing any type of pull-up. It's meant for strictly going up and down. Don't get me wrong it's pretty secure. But I can see that swinging with a lot of force can cause it slip off and fall. But like I said you will have to have a lot of force and momentum to get it off the frame.Overall it's great for home.

Overall satisifed!
For years I’ve been using the more tradtional doorway pullup bars that mostly rest on the edges of door frame s, have been using the kind with neutral grip options and happy, no damage to the door frame either, especially because I use extra padding between the door frame and pull up bar. But I started looking for another option that is more travel friendly because I’ll be travelling for work more often and recently went on a two week trip overseas. These work great! They are compact and worked just about everywhere I stayed except for a hotel in an island off Greece that had no tradtional door frames to grab on to. Ive even been using now that ive been back and dissassembled my old bulky pull up bar. They grab around the frame nicely and leave no marks at all so far. Only two issues: 1) the little grips that fold down are useless, I tried to put some weight on them and one began bending so I stopped and now it’s permanently crooked, for me it’s fine because I prefer the neutral grip but if I didn’t it would be a deal breaker because there is no way those straight grips would’ve held my weight 2) I definitely heard more creeking from the doorframe than I did with the other pull up bar but if I go slow it mostly stops, this has changed the way I do pull ups but am fine with it as going slower I feel my joints don’t bother me as much. Otherwise the pros outweigh the cons. It’s a little pricey but mostly seem well built and hopefully will last a long time.

Great Design, Poor Build Quality: So Close yet So Far...
Dear Jay,Your product has a great design with three strong points:- Compact Size: Perfect for travel.- Good Fit: Works with the girthiest of door frames and trim.- Clean Fittings: Rubber pads seem gentle on walls and frames (based on my brief usage). The clever design makes this tool stand out from other workout equipment. But the build quality is a major disappointment. First, the horizontal grips don’t have a large enough stopper to stay parallel to the ground, so they slip under the screw and tilt downward. I tightened the screw to fix this, but with more use, the frame itself started warping, causing the screw to angle even more and the grips to point further down. I lost all faith in the metal’s quality, as it kept bending until the horizontal grips were unusable. The box says carbon steel, but it feels like cheap aluminum. Then, the spring inside one grip came loose, making the handle unable to hold tension against the frame, rendering it useless. I fiddled with it for about 30 minutes but gave up.I’m returning it. The weak materials and flaws ruin a product I was excited to use for pull-ups anywhere. At this price, the quality is far too low.I would be more than happy to pay twice as much for a product that I know I can truly use everywhere and won't simply fall apart due to the most regular type of usage. This one just isn't it.

Grips too small, pulls off wall with any twisting motion
Pros: good for straightforward pull ups; built of solid materials; fits over most standard doorway widths & even fit on the beam that separates two rooms in my house which is a little wider than a standard doorway; folds compactly; heavy but would work for travel.Cons: no way to “lock” into place once in position (safety concern for anything other than straightforward pull-ups or vertical lightweight band movements directly under the handles); grips are way too narrow to be comfortable for long sets or multiple sets of different exercises - (roughly half the size of any other standard pull up bar I have ever used); would add quite a bit of weight to a suitcase if used for travel; any twisting motion can cause the bars to twist off of the doorframe - noticed this mostly when trying to use bands in my workout. If pulling motion is off-center, bats won’t stay in place.Ok for a temporary fix for pull-ups if you can’t install a more permanent pull up bar, but not a good long term solution due to the small size of the handles. I tried to use this with bands as was advertised, but unless you remain directly beneath the handles and pull bands STRAIGHT down, the handles will twist, causing them to pull away from the wall and potentially come off. I’d hoped this could hold TRX bands, but any motion that is not directly under the handles causes the springs in the handles to release and will make the handles pull off the wall. They are held in place by some kind of an internal spring mechanism that has them clamp against either side of the the wall and rest on the trim around the door. With no means to lock them once in place, this spring can stretch when there is any swinging or lateral movements, so they can pull away during a workout with heavy gauge bands or TRX straps any time the movement is not DIRECTLY vertical under the handles.Suggest the manufacturer add a way to lock them in place once in position as a safety feature, and then these could be used safely with bands and TRX-type straps. As it is, they are not safe for anything other than straight vertical pull-ups. Maybe a clamp system instead of a spring loaded system may be a safer way to go?Unfortunately I’ll be returning these since they can’t quite do what I need them to do when it comes to workouts with bands. That is a shame because this is a great concept and they are made of nice heavy duty material. Add a way to lock these on the wall and they would be a more useful fitness tool beyond pull ups.
