Seiko SRP637 Men's Prospex Analog Automatic 200m Dive Stainless Steel Watch

I think the '637 will go down as one of Seiko's classic watches. It retains recognized classic Monster elements and clear Tuna influences, while adding its own flair - becoming something distinctive in its own right. And then Seiko added perfect execution. Very impressive.The "Tuna Monster" is an outright excellent watch. On one hand, for its price, you are getting close to highly-regarded Seiko Sumo. Yet, the watch is just flawless. I honestly cannot find a single objective issue with it. Fit 'n finish on mine is perfect. The heavily chromed indices on the jet black dial are a sight to behold. The bezel action is the best I have felt: a damped, slick action with delicate clicks - yet precise and zero sloppiness. You even get a pretty solid bracelet in the appropriate 22mm width.It is the perfect size for a modern watch - plenty of presence while always remaining comfortable on my largish 7.5" wrists. In fact, similar to what someone else mentioned, I purchased this watch to replace my EcoZilla. It breaks my heart to have to ditch the iconic 'Zilla because I love everything about it...except actually wearing it due to its weight and thickness (actually painful!). However, the '637 has the 'Zilla's physical presence without the weight or bulk.Its movement (4R36) is known to be pretty reliable and relatively accurate, with nice extras such as hacking second hands and hand winding capability. I haven't actually paid that close of attention to its accuracy and can't compare it to higher end ETA (or Seiko) movements. If anything at all, this would likely be the watch's weakness - and it is hard to describe it as a weakness in an objective sense.The only subjective criticisms I can give are:1) While the white hands stay true to the Monster heritage, IMHO they seem out of place next to such beautifully chromed indices. I think chromed hands would have been a better match (and I may do that as a mod some day). Purely subjective.2) The watch has a very angular, squared-off feel. In direct comparison to a Tuna, the '637 seems to have angles wherever the Tuna is radiused. The flush shroud, combined with the squared indices contribute to its angular look, yet give it its distinctiveness. Again, purely subjective.3) A watch this nice deserves to have a domed sapphire crystal. Once there are some aftermarket options (or someone figures out the compatible sizes), I will get that done.4) Finally, perhaps the only borderline objective gripe is that the bezel is hard to grab. While the action is superb, there is little surface area to grab on the bezel due to the integrated shroud design. While contributing to the watch's distinctive beauty, it takes a bit of technique to turn the bezel. I would imagine it would be difficult to turn if actually diving.All in all, I am amazed at what Seiko delivers for the price of this watch. Very impressed!

I bought my first Monster exactly a year ago and I was so impressed with the quality that Seiko provides especially for the price. Around then, the 1st gen. Black Monster could be purchased for $208 and now it's up to $399. I really wished I had the money back then to get a Baby Tuna because I loved the way the shroud looked. Yeah, I could have done the shroud mod but I wanted to keep my Monster original and i'm glad I did.When the 637 came out I had to have it. Still maintained that classic Monster look with the Prospex lineage and the added shroud was the cherry on top. Build quality is amazing, super tight tolerances were the shroud meets the bezel with a uniform gap throughout. Trust me, I have crazy OCD, I would notice these things or any flaws. The bezel has a different feel to that of my 1st. gen. It's a little bit harder to rotate because of the shroud but the feeling of the bezel rotating is so precise and satisfying. I did ditch the bracelet, just as I did with my first Monster and went with the super engineer.One thing I should mention is that my Monster Tuna did not come in it's original box. After a thorough inspection, the watch I received was indeed brand new but I really don't get why they have to change the packaging, it just makes the customer, like myself, feel unsure about what they have received. All in all, amazing watch from Seiko and I'm so happy to have added it to my growing diving watch collection. Get one while you can, no doubt the price will climb in time. Cheers

I was really looking good forward to this watch. I really like the look. But the watch is not very accurate at all. It is really slow, loses 45s a day. Was really disappointed, I may need to get it regulated

A great watch. Not too big to wear on the wrist (I have a 7.5 inch wrist). The pin and collar bracelet can be challenging for novices to take out links, but I have the tools to do it and if you bring it to a jeweler make sure they don't lose the tiny collars else the bracelet will come apart.Watch is accurate to about 7 or 8 seconds a day, if you want quartz accuracy, pick up the solar diver - I have one of those and it's dead on accurate. The day/date has a white background and easier to see than the black background on other watches. The bracelet is comfortable and I thought I might not like the shroud but it is not obtrusive and looks great. The lume is bright and I like the dial markings. No issues with the watch and I have had it for over a month now.All in all you can't go wrong if you are looking for a great looking, accurate and functional dive watch!

took watch to jeweler to have links removed he said good luck with the band, the band fell off in a few hours returned to jewler 3 time never stayed on for more a few hours sent it to a Seiko repair shop in new jersey e ail they received watch 0n 03/20/16 as of 04/07/16 have not heard from them

Very nice watch. Good presence and not too big. 4 stars because of steel bracelet which I did not like. Changed it for black rubber band which looks much better and sportier. Versatile and can be worn casual and still pass for dressier occasions.

私が発注したショップでは、その翌日に商品発送の連絡がありました。シンガポールポストでの発送とのことでした。そのシンポストのHP上で荷物の追跡ができるようになったのは、発送の連絡があった日から4日後。そして、その次の日には国内の郵便局に到着し、郵便局のHP上でも荷物の追跡ができるようになりました。そこからちょっともたつき、結局日本国内に入った4日後に商品が配達されて来ました。トータルで見ると発送から到着まで8日かかったことになります。さて、以前SRP229の購入を考えていたことがあります。その際、底値になるまでじっくり待っていたところ、結局、購入する機を逸してしまいました…。SRP229の価格動向と見比べると、今の段階で、SRP637は底値にはまだ届いていないと思います。しかし、前述のような事情もあり、早めに購入することにしました。今回のマイナーチェンジで、大きく変わったのは外胴じゃないでしょうか？ 以前からアフターパーツとして、SSの外胴や赤や青にカラーリングされた外胴がリリースされていました。それが好評だったためか？標準仕様で樹脂からSSになり、質感がかなりアップしています。また、非常に落ち着いた印象を醸し、スーツ姿に使用しても全く違和感はありません。一方、SRP227や229のように、さし色でダイアル等にちょっとしたアクセントがあっても良いかなとも思います。その辺りは追加モデルの登場を期待したいところです。精度についてですが、私は機械式にそんなものを求めていません。そのため、きちんと計測したことはないのですが、普段使いに困るようなことは一度もありません。

10月6日注文→9日受け取りFEDEX配送→不在で日通引き継ぎでしたが連絡事項が伝わっておらず受け取りに少々手間取る18時以降の配達には対応していないようなので勤務先等受け取りの方が良いかも箱(潰れてましたが中身は無事)そのものもWIREDメンズの箱より少々見劣りしALBAよりマシという程度のものですが大事なのは中身ですし箱に入れて飾る習慣も無いので問題無し(添付画像の箱は別モデルの物)国内正規品同様商品タグ、裏蓋シール、バンド周りの保護シールやバックルのビニールが付いたままの状態で到着本体には外胴部分に細かい方なら気になるかもという傷というよりわずかなアタリ(1ミリも無いくらい)が有りましたが量販店やアウトレットで買ったと思えば個人的には問題ない状態精度は竜頭で40～50回巻き上げ後12時上で24時間後5～10秒進み、12時下でも10～15秒進みと思いのほか良さそう着用して外出する機会が取れず個体差も有るでしょうから精度については参考までセイコーの普及価格帯ムーブの売りは職人技ではなく自動生産による均一で高い質(値段の割に正確)と丈夫さに有ると思っています外胴部分はステンレス筋目仕上げで質感も価格を考えたら満足個人的に好きになれない近年プロスペックスシリーズの“X”の文字も竜頭には入らず文字盤上のみ記載でこの文字盤との相性は良いと思いますXマークは四角い夜光の文字盤の方が収まりがいいのでしょう当モデルは日本製では有りませんが外装の造り、精度を勘案すると割高な日本製を選ぶ必要は無いでしょう4R搭載機は初めてですが7Sや6Rが好きな方で神経質で無ければ買ってよかったと思えるのでは？受け取り後寝るまでの間毎日着用し大きさと重量感を満喫しています国内版クォーツ外胴モデル買う予算でバリエーションそろえられますよ(2016年8月27日　画像を追加しました。あまりうまく撮れませんでしたがSBBN013、SKX007との比較と夜光の光り具合です)

システム上 星が一つ　ついてしまいますが、星など付けられるはずの無い最低のショップです。トラブルがあった商品自体はセイコー社さんの真摯な対応をしていただいたので問題はありません。ただ、このショップはあまりにも酷いです。きちんとした点検をしていないものを送り、トラブルがあっても知らぬ存ぜぬ購入したこちらの過失と言い張ります。全く意味をなさない紙屑同然自社のをワランティー・・・amazon経由で催促を促してやっと正規の保証書を送ってきたが商品名、購入日時すら記入されていないもの・・散々罵倒された挙句、謝罪の一言もない。トラブルがあったときは絶対に後悔します。安さだけに惑わされないほうが身のためだと思われます。私のような被害を出さないためにも他のショッピングモール等の評価もよく読んだ方がいいと思います。詳細知りたい人が多数あるようでしたら、徐々に公開していきたいと思います。きちんとした謝罪を期待しレビューの公開を一年待ったのですが・・・・・非常に残念です。amazonさんも決してこのレビュー消さないでくださいね。意味わかりますよね？削除なら同罪とみなしますよ。
