Cinderella Stories Around the World: 4 Beloved Tales (Multicultural Fairy Tales) Paperback – Picture Book, August 31, 2014

Very pretty picture book. Is it worth the price? I'm not sure, but it was assigned for one of my education classes and I had to get a physical copy. I got the hardcopy because it was only a little more. The illustrations are beautiful and are really immersive of the culture and time period within the story. The book covers 4 different Cinderella, all from different cultures and background. Interesting twist and perspective of the classic tale! A great book to keep within the home library and for little children.

The book contains four excellent variations on the story. They are good for adults and literature students doing a comparison. The illustrations will appeal to both children and adults. There is a covert lesson in each story. Look for it and think.

This is a great children's book. It contains different versions of the cinderella story. I love the diversity that is in here. There are different cultures that are addressed. I will definitely be reading this to my niece soon!

This book is beautiful. I only gave it 3 stars because it did not work for my intended purpose. I have a friend who's daughter just turned 4. She LOVES Cinderella and I thought it would be fun to give her this book for her birthday! I am glad I had this book shipped to me to read first before sending it to her though. The stories in this book are too dark for me to feel appropriate to give a 4 year old. The stories are too short for an older child too, so it is a strange combination. The book is beautiful and I wish it would have worked as the gift I intended, unfortunately I will have to send it back and look for a different gift.

I bought this for my classroom. I like that the stories are a shorter version of the original stories. My students loved this book.

Different versions in one book made it so easy to have children compare and contrast. They didn't need 4 different books! Also it explains what a fairy tale is in simple language. Great resource for the classroom.
